I got a tip online a while back about turning the settings down and have found the perfect settings:

Picture Mode: Vivid

Backlight: 65

Contrast: 65

Brightness: 62

Sharpness: 75

Color: 65

Advanced Control:

Color Temp: Cool

Fresh Contrast: High

Fresh Color: High

Noise Reduction: Off (important to turn this off. Does nothing but fug up your picture)

Gamma: Medium

Eye Care: off (cause fug yo eyes!)

Real Cinema: On

Yeah it's best to get all TVs out of their standard "torch mode", for the good of the picture, the longevity of your TV, and your eyes.

I would suggest using the test patterns from the avia home theater DVDS... Worth every penny.
