Falcons expected to fire Mike Smith

As much as I hate the Falcons, I've always thought Mike Smith was an excellent coach and a coach that players respect and would run through a wall for. It's not his fault Dimitroff can't put a good team together...

I would take Smith over Rivera in a heartbeat.

Caveat: if Rivera gets us in the playoffs, fug Mike Smith. Coach Rivera is the greatest coach of all time.

I would like to suggest you hire Mike Shula,Carolina Panthers present offensive coordinator . I feel sure i can get you a long list of Panthers fans that will endorse his detailed resume.

i think it actually will have the opposite effect. i believe mike smith is well liked by the players. New coaching staff brings new changes in personnel.

Stop. We have tons of talent on this team TD provided. He went out of his way to fix our lines. Smith just can't coach poo. He's the problem, and is pretty much Rivera 2.0 at this point. His ball control coaching style is outdated, and he's ineffective at the new "explosive" system we have implemented. He's directly cost us two games this year. You don't want him.

Example: Last year, in our OT at Buffalo, we forced a fumble on the first play of OT. Trufant picks up the ball, but he's not a good runner. He pitches it to Alford and we gain an extra 20 yards on his run for an automatic field goal. Trufant is then given a five minute ear-full rant from Smitty about how he shouldn't do that. 

 

He's done it to Hester many times this year too for "taking kicks he shouldn't", even if he made a big play. He hates big plays.

I know we all want the Falcons to take care of the Saints today, but in all honesty I don't.

Can you imagine an NFC South showdown in the Georgia dome with the title on the line next week? (assuming we take care of business today)

I would prefer the Saints and Panthers to take care of business today, eliminate the Falcons so they have nothing to play for next week, and bank on the Bucs at home playing spoiler. Yeah I know, it's the Bucs ... but it's also the Aints ... it's anyones game.

Why would you rather have our destiny out of our hands? Either way we need to beat the Falcons and either way they are go in ng to try to play spoiler
