Respect those Browns fans

i couldn't do it. i wouldn't do it. it's hard enough being a panthers fan with the little peaks here and there followed by blah for a few years. if it weren't for those little peaks giving me hope i seriously doubt i would have lasted this long.

It's just different. It's a 71 year old franchise with 24 playoff appearances and 8 total championships. Even if they've sucked for a long time now, there's still a tradition there that I can see keeping people fans.

For the Panthers our 'old days' are when we had an ugly 1990s logo. It's a lot easier to give up on a young, bad team than a storied franchise.

We've been to a superbowl and multiple playoff appearances in a fraction of the number of seasons. The Browns have it so much worse than us. Sit down and have a discussion with Voth about it one day. Fairly entertaining

And the Lions have it worse than the Browns. 1 playoff win in over 50 years...

It's the expansion team syndrome. The real browns are in Baltimore now. The browns with the storied history. It's hard for expansion teams. It takes years of consistent ownership/management for NFL teams to sustain success.

Past Super Bowl winners the last 14 years.

Pats - 3

Steelers - 2

Packers - 1

Ravens - 2

Colts - 1

Giants - 2

All very old franchises.

That's like saying

"yeah, he beats me all the time, but every 5 or 6 years he buys me a new ring."

It is nothing like that at all. One is sports where every competition produces a losing side. The other is about beating a female.

We might wait for another 50 years to be a storied franchise to win some SB's...
