School Me on Kevin White

Recommended Posts

We will now likely be out of the running for Amari Cooper.

I've seen Kevin White launch up some draft boards and be considered the #2 WR in this class. If we miss the playoffs he could very well be BPA and fill a position of need in the 10-15 range of the draft.

What is to like about this kid? What are the strengths of his game and where does he need to improve? How well would he compliment Kelvin and would he be an immediate difference maker in this offense or his he raw?

Thanks, huddle draft gurus.

If Amari Cooper is not available when we select, I would prefer selecting a S or LT.

This!

IMO, I view our receiving corps as having a tall, physical redzone threat at WR1.  I also believe we have our slot WR with Philly Brown.  What we need is a speedy, precision receiver that can get YAC and with sure hands.  I'd almost prefer that we hit a young FA with these qualities.  Not sure if Torrey Smith has the best hands, but will be a lot cheaper than Maclin or Cobb, and turns 26 in January, so is still very young.

I really hope we can land a franchise caliber LT in this draft.  Depending on where we pick at versus value/BPA will determine that.  Stanley/Peat/Scherff/Collins/Sambailo should all be in play at some point in the first round.  Not sure if Peat is coming out still, but if he does, he is who I'd prefer of the bunch.

At safety, Collins looks like the only surefire first rounder now.  Holliman is an interception machine, but is a piss-poor tackler....kind of a one-trick pony at Louisville.  Kind of hard to get a read on him translating to the NFL and the others.  I'm personally a fan of Durell Eskridge out of SU, but he can be had in the 3rd round probably.

I honestly would love for us to draft a WR in the first. I know everyone wants a OT but after looking at sbnations top 100 prospects OT is a position that is deep in this draft and we could get a good OT in the second round, even the third. So the question to me is there a WR worth taking in the first? White, Parker, Coates, Funchess?

I also am a big fan of Devin Smith and Rashad Greene. I remember watching KBs college tape and Greene always stood out. We could draft them in later rounds.

If we do draft a WR in the first I would say he would have to be over 6'1. Cam needs a big WR. Yes we have Benjamin so we don't have to draft another 6'5 WR but 6'3 would be ideal. Kevin white seems to be the guy but I am scared to draft a West Virgina WR because of Austin and Bailey being bust.
