FIFA to release Gracia corruption report to public

Fifa executives have unanimously agreed to publish a "legally appropriate version" of a report into allegations of World Cup bidding corruption.

However, world football's governing body insisted Russia and Qatar will stay as hosts of the 2018 and 2022 tournaments respectively.

Fifa president Sepp Blatter said he asked the executive committee to vote in favour of publishing the report.

"We have always been determined the truth should be known," he said.

"That is, after all, why we set up an independent ethics committee with an investigatory chamber that has all necessary means to undertake investigations on its own initiative."

So far only a disputed summary of Michael Garcia's 430-page report into the bidding process for the forthcoming World Cups has been published.

Releasing the full report - which is likely be heavily redacted to preserve witness confidentiality - is a change in Fifa policy.

However, it will only be released once ongoing investigations into five individuals are completed.

The governing body had originally resisted pressure from both report author Garcia and others to publish the full report.

The American lawyer resigned on Wednesday after his appeal against the published summary of his report by fellow Fifa ethics committee chairman Hans-Joachim Eckert was dismissed.

Garcia said the findings released, following his two-year investigation into allegations of corruption, were "incomplete and erroneous".

This is bullshit...  Yea, we took bribes but lets just keep World Cup in those countries so no one asks for a refund...

UEFA was extremely unhappy with FIFA and took some major shots at them.  FIFA had no other choice but to publish this report because their credibility is pretty much destroyed as an organization.

FBI also decided to investigate FIFA...  I think FIFA knew they are fuged so at least they decided to come forward.

I honestly think they did not want FBI to dig around because there are much more corruption than just World Cup bids.

This right here. They are trying to mitigate the punishment by "self-imposing" this report release. They don't want the FBI to come digging for fear of what they will find, because I'm certain their corruption goes really deep. I hope the FBI keeps digging.

u know gedion zalden forgot last name is he any good and is it true he wants to play for US over Germany

Yea, he's pretty good for young talent.  The reason he prefers to play for US over Germany is because if he cracks German squad, he will probably be on the bench and will likely start if he chooses to play for US.

thats what I thought is he a striker

Nope, he's a creative attacking midfielder.  He's playing right behind striker.  Arsenal coach actually let him play with starters in few games this season which is extremely unusual.  I don't recall seeing any other 17 year old getting 1st team reps.  Arsenal coach sees something in him. He will be 18 years old next year so it is likely that Arsenal will give him more playing time.  He's a very good passer and tricky with quick feet but he still makes mental errors which is normal for 17 years old.

    • Little worried about Jarvy Shoulder and that torn cuff, it's needed surgery for 2 years now and he's gonna play with it injured again next season.    I like the toughness but would definitely prefer it to be fixed. He's an intritical player on the team going forward.    Also I was high on pain pills last time I wrote about saving cap space but I didn't go into detail cause I wouldn't have been able to do so. "still on a ton of pain medication but not as nearly as many, think I'm down to 23 pills a day from 32 a few days ago, 18 of them are for pain management in some form or another."     But I digress let's get to the point I was trying to make in my last post about saving, I'll now use Jarvis as an example.    Let's say the canes spend 23m of the 28m in space they have available. Then have Jarvis get surgery and put him on LTIR at the start of the regular season.  You let the cap space sit til the trade deadline. At the deadline that cap space would have accural on it and the team can use that space and spend 24m on incoming salary for the rest of the season. Let's say they bring in 5 players and send out two. "player A has an 8m AAV contract" he'd cost Carolina 4m the rest of the season. Player B makes 10 "cost of 5. So forth and so forth.  Using that accural system and the Jarvis LTIR, the Canes could then go into the playoffs with a healthy Jarvis and be 19m over the cap legally for a cup run. The more cap space available at the start of the season, the larger the accural would be at the trade deadline.    That was the first part of what I was going to try and articulate the other day but I'm on 35mg of oxy every 6 hours plus ketorolac and two other pain pills and another for kidney spasms.    Have a wonderful night everyone
