Show some love for the best Rock band since Nirvana

I saw Seether do a double headliner with Papa Roach recently and I liked their vibe a lot, I liked them better than Papa Roach.

But I tend to avoid conversations like this because it always turns into a bunch of people jerking off to their own music taste. My message: listen to whatever the fug you want and stop telling people about how much better your favorite band is because the bassist doesn't sell out to five strings or whatever.

I've got all of Seether's CD's and I like their radio stuff just as much as the "too cool for the room" stuff you're talking about.  Their melodies and song writing hasn't changed a whole lot over the years....it just got "softer".  And you know what?  That's fine.  I've gotten older and I guess I've gotten softer too.  I used to listen to crazy poo like Danzig, Overkill, Death Angel...on and on and on...but I'm not into that stuff any longer.  And to be honest I'm not even sure why I was into that stuff in the first place.

I like Words as Weapons, I love their George Michael cover of Careless Whisper. And I like Fine Again as well.

Those are all radio hits, but the issue with songs like those is that they were made to be on the radio. A lot of times, bands will make radio songs, just to get people into them and do different things with other songs that in consequence, people will enjoy because they related to their radio songs. It happens quite a bit. #3 on CDs for instance is often their radio song, and not so ironically the easiest and most popular number to remember.

But like I said I like their radio songs, to me, to claim you reall like a band though, you have to actually enjoy their other songs that wern't made to pay the bills. That is why I love first CDs so much, the band is uknown and don't have an identity. They have no idea what will be a hit or not so it's much more genuine although I am sure that's not always the case.

In the end: If I can ask someone what their favorite songs are and they name songs other than the radio hits, I can consider them a true fan of a musician's work...it's not so much this song is better than the other, it's more of appriciating songs that are made for the fan not the masses.

I've listened to disclaimer II way too much. It's their best cd.
