Show some love for the best Rock band since Nirvana

Thoughts on System of a Down?

System has not aged well.  It was awesome in high school and early 2000's but listening to it now, it's pretty bad minus a few songs.  Not Limp Bizkit bad though.  A ton of that music from that time is just bad now, not many classics.  However, Limp Bizkit's first album is still solid, and Staind's Dysfunction is still a great album.

Tool has been great and like someone said APC.  In the 90's Pantera was dominating metal IMO and infuenced a TON of metal/hard rock bands today.

Seether?  There have been slim pickens since the 90's but..... Seether? lolz

to quote a better rocker than seether, "you took the words right out of my mouth". It's funny that nirvana namely Cobain didn't realize the talent he had at drummer who was a way better song writer and musician than he was. maybe he did realize at the end.

Only a crackhead would call Grohl a better songwriter than Kurt. I like me some Dave too

Seether?? Lol just bc the singer ripped off Kurts singing style doesnt make them alike. Not even in the same building talent wise

though I do not do crack you can call me a crackhead because Grohl is a1000 times better songwriter and musician than cobain dreamed of being.

this is a popular opinion because what grohl does is more palatable to dadrock fans than anything cobain ever did.  also because he's one of those lame ass "hur dur music sucks now technology ruined music" idiots.

foo fighters is paint by numbers radio rock and you're confused if you think they're anything more.  i'd go so far as to say that they wouldn't be nearly as popular if grohl didn't already have a massive leg up and built in receptive audience in the music industry as "that guy from nirvana".  i mean all the guy had to do was pick up the phone to get his new project on a major label.

also did dave grohl become yngwie malmsteen while i wasn't looking or something?  i keep seeing people talk about what an amazing unbelievably spectacularly talented musician he is.

he's a powerhouse rock drummer but thoroughly average guitar player.  you can go to guitar center on saturday and hear teenage numbskulls who are better than him.

so besides popularity and success they got nothing.Got it.The best song Cobain and nirvana had was a cover. If what Grohl does now isn't like Nirvana then the leg up is non existent as it stands on its own apart from Nirvana.I don't see their success being less if he wasn't in Nirvana before. Same good songs and a wider audience base beyond the niche audience of nirvana.

malmsteen is a one trick pony so no Grohl is not like that.
