Is Jay Cutler THAT Bad?

Like being benched for Jimmy Clausen bad? By looking at his stats, you would think he's a top 10 QB. His QBR this year is the highest of his career. I did see the Saints game the other night and that was pretty awful. However, his defense hasn't done him any favors by allowing almost 30 points a game (last in the NFL).

 

So how did it come down to this? I think the Bears are trying to put the blame on one person when in reality it's more to do with those around him.

I saw somewhere that the Cutler benching is just to make sure he doesn't get injured. If that's the case, then the Bears are on the hook for all his $15.5M next year.

Cutler is and always has been an enigma. I don't think he'll ever be great - his personality just doesn't fit. He really has a demeanor of a drug-addict. Someone who has a lot of talent but can't be bothered to try hard.
