That lineup would shoot 10% outside of the paint. Rondo can't shoot at all. He's a worse shooter than MKG, Henderson, & Stephenson. He's a passer & rebounder. That's it. He can't score, he is terrible defensively, and he's a douche & locker room cancer. He's also nearly 30 years old & injury prone. It would take about 1 game before Rondo & Stephenson got into an on court scuffle over grabbing a rebound.

Rondo is a great fit for Dallas. They have a roster full of shooters. He can handle the ball & distribute all game. They have a strong locker with Dirk, Carlisle, & even Cuban & can keep him in line.

 

 

You are aware that Rondo was an All-Defensive First Team player twice and an All-Defensive Second Team Player twice, right? He's been in the league for 8 years and 4 of them he's been on All-Defensive teams. He also led the league in steals 4 years ago.

 

He's all defense. That's what he brings to the table. Efficiency and defense. And the only player in this league that runs an offense better than Rajon Rondo is Chris Paul. It's just fun to watch him QB an offense and make the best out of the players around him, he actually does that.

 

Rondo is a really under-appreciated player BECAUSE he can't shoot. He's all grind, not glamour that's actually what I really like about him. He's made a 4x all star career out of being ONLY defense and passing. Lot to be said for that.

People who think rondo sucks in this situation in Dallas don't know poo about basketball. Scoring doesn't mean anything for a pass first point guard. Rondo does all the little things and is aggravating defensively to point guards. In Boston he lost all shooters to pass to. Now he has plenty of weapons to set up, which is his strength

I think Rondo will thrive in Dallas.

They have three pure shooters who shoot 45% or above from the field. His assist numbers are going to be through the roof.

Their bench is also pretty solid as they have three bench players that average over five points a game (Harris, Barea, and Aminu).

Dallas is in a great spot right now.

People keep talking about how one sided the trade was but fail to realize that the Celtics have cleared 12 million player exemption and also acquired draft picks. Rondo wanted out and his contract was running out. Sure the Celtics could of waited until the trade deadline but what if Rondo got hurt and lost his trade value? I guess there wasn't many offers for rondo and Boston went with their best offer.

For those who are mad that we didn't trade for Rondo all I can say is you obviously haven't watched our team play because our team needs shooting not a playmaker who doesn't score 10 ppg.

Dallas' shooting is very overstated. I'm sure they'll be fine, but Ellis is a volume chucker with okay at best efficiency. Parsons is a good not great shooter. Then there's Dirk who is very good. The shooting Nelson and Harris were adding wasn't nothing.

I like the Mavs, hard to get excited about a PG who shoots 33% from the free throw line. That is really extraordinarily awful. He's a major liability. Maybe a new/better team will reinvigorate him. I think he's capable of being a good player.

Dirk isn't playing well today and that's why SA leads. Rondo has played fine, with 5 assists and 6 boards. Doing exactly what Dallas needs him to do, pass the ball, play a little defense and rebound. He's going to have a double double with no points. lol
