Harmless isn't the issue. And around my house we get orb weavers the size of silver dollars. Not exactly a camel spider, but pretty creepy to walk through a 10 ft. spider web.

I honestly hate ants worse.  They drive me insane and come out of no where.  Those tiny ones, not the big carpenter ants those are cool.

i live in the dc/md/va area and go to B-more about 1-2x a year.. Panthers games, aquariums, Orioles games etc.

 

so not too long ago we stepped out of the car around my work (Northern VA) and smell sewer smell, my son chimes in and says

"EWWW, IT SMELLS LIKE BALTIMORE!!!!"

Spiders are most closely related to crustaceans. So just think of them as cute little crabs scurrying around your house, and it's impossible to be scared of them.

Nothing wrong with a little crabs.

 

unless you get them from a back alley hooker. Those crabs would be bad.

Wife wants me to catch and release spiders that make their way into the house. Of course I only do that when she's in the room. But dammit, went to catch a medium sized wolf spider and fug, I missed and then had 100s of baby wolf spiders running all over the tile. Said fug it and brought out the Windex and saturated the back door area. I got em, but I'm sure a dozen or so escaped.

I was in my out building one time and I didn't have any bug spray, so I said "fug it, let's try some Windex". It actually worked!! Been using it since!

arachnophobia was one of my favorite scary movies when i was a kid.

 

freaked me the fug out.

 

Me and a friend cleared out half a theater one time watching this movie when it first came out.

 

We went to the movies one weekend after hearing how awesome it was. When the movie was over we had the afternoon left with nothing to do, so we got some more popcorn and soda and sneaked into the theater, and sat towards the very back to watch it again.

 

There is a scene in the movie, I don't recall the exact specifics of it, it's been so long ago. There are all these baby spiders in a large sac hanging from the rafters in what I believe was the barn. During this scene the sac busts open and all of these spiders fall out. At this exact moment, already knowing what would happen, my friend and I reached into our popcorn buckets grabbed up the largest fists full of popcorn we possibly could and then flung popcorn in the air and down onto the spectators in front of us. The fallout was one of the most memorable and hilarious things I have ever witnessed. One of the hardest times I have ever laughed. Were we assholes? Yeah, sure we were. But we were just dumb teenagers having a fun a the theater. Good times.
