Bears benching Cutler, starting Clausen

Jon Gruden called this on Monday night. Cutler looks horrible and disinterested in the game. I don't blame him really as he has faced unfair criticism for years and it's not his fault the Bears chose to give him mega dollars. Then his OC calls him out in the press and there's really no punishment for it.

The Bears suck. Their defense is old and can't stop anyone. They stuck with Lovie Smith way too long and they hired very mediocre coach as his successor then gave Cutler an excessive contract further hampering other areas of the team.

Cutler has always been Cutler. He shows signs of greatness but never is consistent and is not a leader. Players end up hated because bad gms overpay them. Just like with Deangelo Williams here. Dwill has always gone down on first contact. When he was fast and had great oline play he could average good yardage. Now he's slower with a poor oline and guess what? He still goes down on first contact it's just the first contact comes a lot sooner.

Clausen never has shown me anything and he was out of the league for a year which speaks volumes about how others GMs around the league felt about him. I still don't know why Clausen was drafted or why he got PT over Moore. If Clausen shows any production maybe he can save Hurney some face.

Clausen was on officially on Carolina's IR, not out of the league, though no one claimed him injured off of waivers when he was put there.

Tweet of the day (re: Clausen): With win Sunday Jimmy Clausen would tie Mark Vlasic for most victories (2) by NFL QB named for a brand of pickle.

And as for the Cutler trade, it's interesting to see some of the names that got eventually got drafted in some slots that the Broncos traded away:

First in 09 Denver got Robert Ayers with the 18th pick, used the 84 (Mike Wallace) in a package to trade up to 64 and got Richard Quinn. The Bears used 140 that year to select Johnny Knox.

The 2010 pick Denver played ping pong first trading 11 (Anthony Davis: non unibrow edition) to SF for 13 and 113. Then 13 (Brandon Graham) went to PHI for 24, 70, and 87. DEN then trades 24 and 113 (Aaron Hernandez) to NE for 22 (also NE trades out of 24 to DAL who took Dez Bryant). With the 87 pick, DEN took Decker. That 70 pick (Ed Dickson), it got shipped to BAL along with 43 (originally received in the Marshall trade to MIA - which BAL used on Sergio Kindle), and 114 (Dennis Pitta) for none other than The Golden Calf of Bristol.

I was never quite sure of your opinion on Cutler, Bolt.  Why don't you tell us?

The Huddle is a funny place.

Cutler's numbers are way better across the board than our "franchise quarterback" and he has been sacked just as many times...

Yet, Cutler "sucks ass", and yet you want to give Newton a Cutler contract.

LOL...

The fact that you are really bringing up Cam in a Cutler thread and trying to compare their situation based upon stats in completely different situations just speaks to your silly agenda. But if you want to play that game, the last time I checked Cam wasn't a 9 year veteran, didn't have 4 Pro Bowl caliber skill position players around him and didn't lead the league in turnovers.
