Hope Ron doesn't name a starter until Sunday

They should just name DA the starter now & say Cam will be the backup. Practice DA with the 1s during media portions of practice, then switch Cam to the 1s when it's private.

DA comes out of the tunnel & starts the game. Handoff to Stewie on the first play, then Cam comes in for DA.

Stadium would explode.

That would be dumb and unless the Panthers morph into a pee wee football team, I don't see a single purpose it would serve.

True hero status could be in Cam's future if he comes in off the bench to whip lil' Johnny's arse late.

I mean like street clothes in the first half then disappears halfway through the third only to come out moments later suited up. DA hands him the rock.

As far as who actually starts...

 

Being the Hall of Fame armchair quarterbacks that we are, it will all depend on the outcome. If they go with Cam and Panthers win, all is well. If they lose, it was a horrible decision and everyone should be fired. If DA starts, and Panthers win, it was a smart, conservative move by the coaches. If they lose, Cam seemed fine and should have started, and everyone should be fired. 

 

I'm not Shula's biggest fan, but I like the rest of the coaching staff on the whole. And while it's easy to question Gettleman, he could have easily paid everyone that left(Munnerlyn, Mitchell, Ginn, LaFell, etc.) and gotten the team back into the bad cap situation that he inherited. I don't think that they'll be in as bad a personnel scenario again any time soon; and this team has shown that it can win with it's young secondary when the O-line is healthy. 

 

Personally, I can't help but like the situation that the Panthers are in right now. Season could have been better, but they are staring down the barrel of 1) winning the division, or 2) a top-10(ish) draft pick. Love a silver lining.
