No. You cannot transmit the influenza virus from a vaccination the same way you cannot contract it from a vaccination. The virus in the shot is DEAD. It is not a live virus. It is "deactivated" cannot spread.

And the nose spray is a cold-attenuated virus, meaning it is cultured to survive in cold temperatures only. Inside your 98 degree body, it is incapacitated and similarly cannot spread.

You cannot, I repeat CANNOT catch the influenza virus from a vaccination! Nor can you transmit it to others. In every case, it is a virus that cannot propogate in the human body.

I understand. It's just maddening how much information is out there. I wish it was easier to track down the source so it could be discredited all at once! But it'd fuggin everywhere! I hear so many people with such fundamental misunderstandings of how vaccines work, and I can't imagine why. Where are they reading/hearing this stuff?

 

This vaccine phobia is the worst virus of all! It's obviously highly communicable, rapidly transmissible, spreads through the air and consumption of bull poo, and is seemingly incurable.

 

It seems the only preventative measure is a grain of salt when reading about vaccines online. It may be too much to ask, since they use simpler language that is more accessible to the average person, than the more credible information from the scientific and medical community.

 

But at a certain point people have got to understand that the reason the anti-vax message is being written in such an accessible way is because the people who are writing it only have a layman's understanding of viruses and vaccines and how they work, and many of the interpretations these laymen and overprotective soccer moms with Associates Degrees in English make of the scientific data is just flat out wrong! And the package inserts, MY GOD the misunderstanding people have of package inserts!

 

"The package insert says that some people in the clinical trial for this drug got Colon Cancer. THEREFORE IT CAUSES COLON CANCER!"

 

No, the drug companies have to put everything that occurred in the trial in the package insert. If a guy's toenail fell off, it's documented in part of the drug trial. If a guy started going bald, it's documented. That doesn't mean those events are caused by the drug, they just are bound to record them by the FDA! And including those conditions in the package insert is not an admission by the drug company or the government that the drug causes it! It means it happened to patients during the trial. You still have to factor in background rates for these conditions.

My wife just told me there's not a bed to spare in the hospitals. They are to capqcity and she is seeing tons of flu. Those that got the shot have a shortened case with less severe symptoms.

No Panthro thats my wife who said this!! Lol

But the whole point of the thread is for the aww shucks... Or nah bro mercury!!

I'm never getting a flu shot. Why? If you saw what happened to my dad and that the flue shot most likely was the cause of it you might not consider it again.

He woke up one day unable to move except his neck. Had to go through blood dialysis, feeding tube (throat closed) and be hooked up to a ventilator. 3 years, still in a wheelchair yet his muscles are slowing coming back. Will not be the same person again if he is able to walk around and do what he normal could do. Luckly on disabilities. Google guillain-barré syndrome.

Some folks die touching a peanut or being within 10 feet of a latex balloon. I am not dismissing what happened to your dad but im sure a shot can effect <1% of the pop in an adverse way. But so can most anything else.

I'm a medical major. I've spent 1/3 of my life researching things like this. There IS a possibility to get the active flu virus from the shot, however small it is.

A guy I knew in High School died from the Flu. He was 24 years old, completely healthy. He thought he could drink fluids and sleep it off. He died in his sleep. If you think yourself some sort of genetically superior being, you're wrong.

 

Edit: These old southern anti big brother thoughts about fluoride in our water and vaccines need to stop. The human population is sprawling and mobile. We can wipe each other out through irresponsible behavior. There are plenty of examples of this in nature.
