On This Day - Bottlegate

December 16th 2001, The NFL witnessed Bottlegate.  Since its Browns week for the panthers and today is a historic day let I remind you of the cluster fuq that was the Browns/Jags game.  The only time in the history of the NFL where a booth review was used after another play was already ran.  Needless to say, the ruling was overturned and the dog pound got ugly.

You don't see it in the video but eventually some fans dragged the officials back onto the field where they were drawn and quartered.

Yea, I don't remember hearing about that.  I'd be irate if I was a Browns fan.  I hope those refs never called another game in their lives.  That was worse than the Fail Mary and the Tuck Rule.

The officials really really screwed up, they got called on it, and instead of correcting their mistake they just ended the game and ran and hid.

Terry McCauley cost us the division with his horrendous officiating against Dallas in 2005.

If I'm not mistaken it was him and his crew that ejected Steve and then overturned a blocked fg that peppers had that would have ended the game.
