Denver Emerging as Candidate For Stephenson

The draft lottery system exists because in the NBA there are only 15 roster spots, so the impact a single player has on a franchise's success is much greater than in the NFL, where getting production out of the late rounds is essential.

For me, it's not that we missed out on Anthony Davis, but that New Orleans was the team that passed us. No one cares about basketball in a Saints town, the team they built around him can't get to the playoffs in the west, and to add insult to injury it's our old franchise that is there because of George Shinn.

Once he up and leaves to Chicago it won't bother me anymore as chances are he would have done the same here.

Regardless, the draft lottery system is not to blame here, but rather a front office that deviated from a plan and got cute without worrying about the fit for the players they got in the offseason. Go back and look at Cho's drafts. The players were there wherever we picked, we just missed them.

That last part I agree with. Klay Thompson, Vucevic, Kawhi Leonard, Reggie Jackson, all still avaliable when we drafted Biyombo. Just terrible.

Also, where do you get Davis wants to play for Chicago. He stated he wanted to play in Charlotte before he was drafted by NO

He said he wanted to play in Charlotte because we were the odds-on favorite for the pick and since we were owned by Jordan he found a connection he thought would be appealing.

I just threw out Chicago because that's his hometown and especially in this day and age of the NBA rarely will any player end up remaining with the organization he was drafted into, especially if it's a smaller market.

Even though it may be true that Davis would have said he was excited to play for any team with the worst record, he also has family in Charlotte and he said his family was excited for him to get to play here. He was excited by that too. So he does have a legit connection here and probably wanted to end up here more based on the situation.

This would be better for us than trading to the Pacers and probably the Nets. I believe we could probably trade lance for Affalo straight up. If not affalo there are plenty of other players that are pretty good we could go after. Maybe we could unload Williams as well.

The biggest problem I have with all of these trade rumors with Lance is that we will have to give up this years 1st to move him which is BS. The rumor of us trading Lance and a 1st to the Pacers for Miles and Scola, why would we even do that trade? We benefit absolutely nothing from it.
