Denver Emerging as Candidate For Stephenson

The Hornets have regretted signing guard Lance Stephenson to a free-agent deal over the summer and are trying to trade him. According to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports and FOX Sports 1, the Hornets tried to deal Stephenson back to the Indiana Pacers. The Brooklyn Nets are another possibility. Also, I've heard the Denver Nuggets mentioned recently. FoxSports.com

Faried anyone?

Mozgov and Chandler would ideally be who they'd dish out.  Chandler could be interesting but OKC maybe making a big push for him.  Faried is interesting though but I'd like to think we could get more than just him in a Lance trade.  So much speculation...ah the beauty of the NBA trade market.

Afflalo isn't that good.

No he's not, but he fits the team better then Stephenson does. He's a shooter with a career 39% 3pt percentage and he's gotten better and taking more of them the last couple of seasons. Not an ideal situation but still better then Having Stephenson and Kemba in the same backcourt.

We all know Kemba isn't being traded, so the only option is to find a taker for Stephenson.

My gut tells me Lance is gone tom.

If the Hornets want any shot at squeaking into the playoffs they have to act now!

The problem for me is Stephenson is being a scapgoat and he shouldn't be.

This team overachieved last season and Al put more effort in defensively then he has this season for the most part. Also the rest of the team fit around Jefferson better defensively last season as well.

Honestly and I've been saying it since he was picked up, but Jefferson was the mistake signing. He's below average on defense (that's me being nice about it), a black hole on offense, plus he's FG % is low for the type of shots he attempts.

Kemba is a below average scorer, decent passer/floor general, decent defensively, good ballhandling.... But he doesn't fit with MKG or Jefferson.

They spent all that money for nothing, now they can't figure out that the real mistake on the team is the two pieces they refuse to move.

For Jefferson to truly work, you need a stretch 4, d and 3 SF, and a 3pt specialist at the 2, plus a pass first PG who can knock down open 3's reliably. Then you have to rely on Jefferson to pass out of doubles and find the open man and swing the ball for the open shot.....Just like Orlando back in the Howard days.

The same System that Clifford is running here.....We just don't have the pieces to run it and we won't be getting them.

    • Fans are fed up with this organization's endless string of failures. And, while Morgan's less than a year into his current position, everything he's done is barreling down the same path shat out by his predecessor. If we're just pointing out this alarming lack of discrepancy between the performances of two GMs, it's really not hating. He's just proving to not be a good hire. And, hey, it's alright, because whoever Tepper hires next will, at best, only suck a little bit less. I don't mind people who are optimistic and hope Morgan turns out to be better than he's been thus far. That'd be great. None of us are rooting for him to fail. However, the embarrassing pattern of decisions persists. And it's not a good look.
    • You have to view everything that was done in 2024 through the ‘eliminate excuses for Bryce Young’ lens IMO. It only makes sense that way.     If you allow for that, you will see that Diontae fulfilled his purpose.
    • The Panthers' beat writer called the Johnson trade return "a warm bottle of RC Cola." If you're quick to discount every bit of news that disagrees with your view, maybe your view is the problem. Morgan deals himself a bad hand and he deserves every bit of criticism for it. Fitterer was the worst GM ever, but Morgan is a very similar brand of awful. Certainly when it comes to trades since 2021, Morgan's body of work makes him at best, only one of the worst negotiators in the history of North American professional sports. That's simply pointing out the numerous shortcomings he's put on display. If I point at a guy who shot someone and say "he murdered a guy," I'm not hating on him -- I'm pointing out what he did. If Morgan wants to not be labeled an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better, simply stop being an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better. Or, wait until Tepper makes him the fall guy after Evero.
