Rivera: Cam's injury can get worse if he gets hit

I thought the injury was more about pain tolerance?

Houshmandzadeh was on ESPN the other day saying he had the same injury Cam had and didn't miss a game.

Its a good thing he didn't.  I mean its hard to tell how his HOF career would have gone if he had missed a game....

surely people here can understand what degree of injury means, or are you guys just about football not caring about the guy? did this TJ guy also suffer this injury while being flipping around in a truck 3 or 4 times or did he just have a 250+LB guy hit him pretty hard?

It's called competitive advantage. Defense doesn't have lot of details on Cam's injury. Rivera is pretty much saying, if you hit him there, it will get worse. Why a head coach would say that I don't know

Are you serious?  What details did Ron "reveal" that the Browns don't already know?  If you hit Thomas Davis in his knee Sunday it will get worse.  If you hit Stewart in his ankle Sunday, it will get worse.  Please tell me how Ron revealed anything anybody with half a brain doesn't already know?

Let's be real here. Even if we make the playoffs we are a real long shot to go much further. It reminds of 2004 when we rallied late only to miss the playoffs at the end. Still then and now we have a team that for whatever reason had inconsistency and couldn't get both sides of the ball working together until late in the year. But it set the stage for an outstanding 2005 and perhaps a great 2015. What killed us in the past was injury to our franchise quarterback and I don't want that repeated. Until it is safe to the point he is in no danger of any injury more serious than would have been the case had he not been in the car wreck, he won't be on the field. We have waited 20 years for a franchise quarterback like Cam and don't want to risk injury at any cost. Let him sit and let Anderson play it out. At least until Atlanta and likely not then given the turf harder surfaces.

If Rivera is worried about his job he would start Cam regardless of his health in order to win now and gamble nothing happens. If he is looking more long term and more worried about the team and the player than he is about his own security, he takes a cautious approach as I advocate and ensure Cam's future. We don't want anything to derail this train.

TJ had 4 cracked TP's, Cam only 2. just saying.....

I know you guys are in the lets miss the playoffs so we can fire Rivera and get higher draft pick bandwagon, but personally I hope Cam plays (if he's healthy) so we can actually make the playoffs.
