And the highest rated tackle over the past 2 games is...

Jeremy Igo

Hopefully he can keep it up and all we have to worry about this offseason regarding the offensive line will be finding a legit LT and adding depth.

Resign Byron Bell as a backup since he knows the system and has experience at both left and right.

How the F was this guy not on an active roster?

Regardless, it's awesome news, but we can't rely on that for next season. Our problem historically is that once we get too comfortable with the familiar and never bring in competition. He may be the starter for years to come, but bring in other competition to push him.

Mike Remmers, RT: +4.6

Breakdown: Have the Panthers found something in Remmers? A 2012 undrafted free agent out of Oregon State, he hasn’t just graded positively in each of his three starts this year, he’s actually improved in each. Perfect in pass protection, he also added some nice blocks against the run.

Signature Stat: Through the past three weeks, no offensive tackle has a higher Pass Blocking Efficiency Rating than Remmers’ 99.4

Ron didn't put a gun to Gettleman's head when he signed Chandler to a 3 year contract.

Obviously they both expected him to be a contributor. It hasn't worked out. Simple as that.

That deal isn't necessarily a bad one. He's being paid basically nothing and was solid enough at guard last year that he will be a great backup for us.

It's not the deal, it's the insistence on giving projects like Chandler and Bell chance after chance while our QB gets lit up. Meanwhile we've got guys like Remmers just sitting around waiting for an opportunity. I can only hope that our FO has learned from that after this season.

rivera is the one setting the depth chart though

remmers was brought in midseason anyway.  even though he's proving that he deserves to start right now you still have to take in to account that he'd need at least a week or two of practice to get familiar with the offense.  if you want an example of a superior talent making sure the bench stayed tethered to planet earth while guys ahead of him on the depth chart got their asses kicked then norwell is your guy.

That's more on the coaching staff than the front office. Gettleman gets the players. It's up to Rivera to use them properly.

Well obviously I would agree that it's more on Rivera at this point.

Though with such being the case, it's up to Gettleman to either reel him in and put him on a shorter leash, or move on altogether.

Rivera really hasn't shown that he has learned or progressed from his mistakes overall as a HC, and even if we somehow back into the playoffs, I just cannot say for sure that we should keep him. Though I doubt he gets fired anyways, that's just the sad truth of the matter.

He's only signed for 5 million total I think, so for 3 years and 5 mil, we have a "decent" back-up that we could plug in the middle of a game in the event a starter gets hurt...

Not all of it is guaranteed too. So that's nice.

Worth remembering that if it weren't for injuries, Silatolu and Chandler would still be starting.
