Would you want a look at Remmers at LT in the offseason with Bell back at RT?

 

Knowing nothing about how Remmers performs in practice, I'd say no.  He and Turner seem to be playing well beside each other, so why nto let them grow together like Gross and Wharton (assuming that he earns a starting spot next year)?  Seems easier to limit it to one necessary variable in the offseason instead of two.  I also sincerely hope that the FO doesn't leave LT unaddressed and stand pat with Bell.

 

That said, I'm cool with keeping Bell and Chandler as backups but I'm not sure that Bell would take a demotion all that well after starting for 4 years.  If he's not penciled in as a starter for 2015, wouldn't be surprised if he's gone this offseason.

Yea i believe in Norwell. I'm still judging Remmers, he's played good so far though. It would be amazing if he becomes a solid RT. Being a LT away from were we were in the beginning of the season is a great feeling

I wouldn't assume anything. We are winning our way out of NFL Ready Tackle talent in the draft. We might be able to move Byron to the right side but I doubt he's completely gone. 

 

We don't even know our Coaching staff and scheme for next season. 

 

Anthony Collins is under contract for like 4 more years. The one thing you gotta say about the Bell deal, he only got a year.

 

I'm sure someone will pop in and remind us how great Remmers and Norwell are. Let's play the Cardinals or Eagles in the playoffs and see how you feel about them. Heck let's see them vs. the Browns.

I don't think McCoy was healthy at all. I think he wanted to be healthy. But he wasn't. My image of Norwell is him gettin tossed aside by Connor Barwin. 

 

I think he's doing great compared to Amini but I wouldn't go all in on him.

Going 7-8-1 shouldn't guarantee anyone a job. At the very least there needs to be staff moves made.

I'm excited about the future of Norwell. I think he's going to be a very solid guard in the NFL. He might even be a better RG with his nasty run blocking.

Remmers I'm not sure if he will pan out or not. He did well against Michael Johnson. I'd like to see how he does in preseason next year.

Bell, no matter what Rivera says, is garbage and must be replaced immediately. I mean, holding, false starting (I know Norwell got called for the false start, but Bell also jumped), and then giving up pressure after pressure... I can't explain it.

i still don't think amini is 100% from that ACL. he was never getting manhandled like this, it was always mental mistakes.

 

i'd like to keep him as a backup but there maybe cheaper options depending on what he gets on the market next season (my guess is not much)

any scenario in which Byron bell is anything other than a backup is scary. He shouldn't even be on the team

As mentioned a good route could be to sign a FA for LT and draft a prospect who can serve as a backup and potential LT (I don't care where in the draft honestly...hopefully somewhere in rounds 1-4).  I think we let Bell walk unless Rivera wants him for like a vet min deal.  Chandler is signed for a few years so may be here still as that emergency backup for G and T.  Velasco's contract will be up so I can see him walking as well.    

 

The 2016 UDFAs I'd want to re-sign right now would be Remmers to like a 2-year deal (didn't realize he's only 25) and maybe Folkerts since it seems like we like having him behind Kalil.    

 

I know we're on a roll right now but we've still got some important holes and I don't want to jump on a train too fast.

mccoy played more like 20 snaps according to PFF

 

on another note i know mccoy and david are considered like top three at their positions in the league but whenever we play the bucs it kind of seems like they're just there.  like one of them will notch a sack or have a nice pass break up or something but no real game changing plays.

 

Yeah, I was talking about this yesterday.  They've both been so underrated to the point that they're now overrated.  Never seen such "meh" players that are supposedly among the elite at their positions.

 

I don't know how they rack up the stats they do.  Maybe it's because they're so invisible the majority of the game, the one actual good play they make is overlooked.  For whatever reason though they can do no wrong in PFF's eyes... same with JJ Watt, but at least you actually notice him on the field.
