Kaepernick has been to three nfccgs and he can't get past the first read. The whole can't read defenses has been a catch all term around here used to loosely.

Kaepernick is incredibly athletic. Like I said before he can mask some deficiencies. Manziel doesn't have that kind of athletic ability and he's tiny

What an ass. He talks about it being unfair to Manziel because he is "a 6th round talent with 1st round hype"

What is unfair is judging him that harshly after one start

I expect Manziel to play much better this weekend

I don't know about that.  Manziel really seems Clausen and Losman level IMO.  People can bash ESPN and Hoge all they want but I think he's right about Manziel.  He just doesn't really bring anything to the table as an NFL QB in my opinion.

Not pertaining to you--According to this board every sports media outlet and journalist minus a few at Grantland are idiots and never right.

Last paragraph does pertain to me because I definitely fall into that category

if there was ever a fuging game where the panthers would panther it up at the worst possible time, this is it. if we let this little shitstalk sprout up and look like a legit nfl passer it will be a top five worst moment in the franchise's history. it'd be up there with brady quinn marching in and opening the bomb bay doors on us. good god the shame.

i don't trust our defense and i don't trust derek anderson and the mike shula field goal show to get it done, as much as i love DA. cam needs to come back.

Yeah all this cocky smack talk coming from a 5-8-1 team is stupid. JM has a disastrous introduction to the NFL as a starter but that doesn't automatically mean his next start will be a mirror image. They also play 10 other guys on offense.

Those other 10 guys don't have him tossing the ball up and terrible reads. Sure its a team sport but when a guy who touches the ball every snap starts the game with 2 INTs and almost 20 yards of passing its not a great sign, especially when the year before Hoyer had Josh Gordon leading the league in receiving yards

Yeah now I know you're talking out of your ass. Manziel not athletic? He isn't Tom Brady or Eli back there. He's tiny, shifty, and quick. Wilson isn't a burner and makes guys miss regularly.

Straight line speed isn't the only thing that makes you athletic

Manziel isn't even on the same level of wilson and kaeper

Currently? No manziels a rookie. Does he have the ability to become a starter like them? Absolutely. That's the whole point. He has only had one start in his whole career. Even before that start he has gotten a bust label.

I'm saying judging him off solely his first start is completely short sighted and a bit naive.

Agreed however it is pretty obvious that he doesn't have the work ethic or accountability to put in the work to get better. He is a very talented football player (QB I'm not so sure)...but guys like him, with that attitude, wash out all the time.

Yeah see I can't agree with that. Not a single person knows his work ethic except for himself. We aren't in the film room or the meeting rooms with him. Everyone has this preconceived notion of him and his personality based on his college stories. Whether good or bad.

You know how much hate this kid gets just for being who he is? You know how many people are praying for this guy to fail?

He knows. He hears it all. That's probably the best motivation a footballer player can have. He absolutely has the talent to make it work as a starter in the league. The kid just actually needs more than one freaking game before people say he should get dropped.

I feel like that's reasonable is it not?
