Derek Anderson is one of the best backup QBs in the NFL, maybe the best.  He does exactly what you want a backup QB to do - win games in spot duty if your starting QB is injured.  There's a reason he's 31 and a backup QB though and that's because he's been a starter on multiple teams and he wasn't good enough to keep the job.  He might get a shot somewhere else like McCown did in Tampa and more power to him if he does....but if I were him I'd ride out my career making millions of dollars backing up one of the most exciting QB's in the NFL.  With Cam's playing style he's sure to start a few games here and there over the next couple seasons.  Talk about a posh gig....

He's really not that great.  Good backup, but would be a below average nfl starter. Ya know, what he proved to be during his career.

I'm not going to sit here and call DA better than Cam. But he did ok. He moved the ball well and looked comfortable in the pocket. He made some throws that Cam probably doesn't attempt. Still when we got in the redzone without the threat of the QB power O, you saw us struggle to find answers.
