Derek Anderson the diamond in the rough

This game and week one were great examples of why 1. We are fortunate to have a guy like DA as a backup and 2. Why Cam is the starter.

Derek does a great job of replicating how a QB is supposed to run the offense, but he is not someone defenses need to game plan for like Cam.

He did have a few throws that should've been picked, and the interception that was called back because of a bogus call (which I was happy to take) but overall he was great.

I never saw a good replay but iirc that went off of two players hands, lastly Olsen's who knocked the ball up in the air - a cardinal sin for a receiver/TE.

Also Olsen false started a ridiculous number of times today. Aside from that he was great.

The one thing that I will give Anderson is his throws were ABSOLUTE MONEY almost every time.

The one thing I will state in a debate of Cam vs. Anderson however is.

  • Anderson did not deal with bad line play, (and we see what happened last week the first time the line played very well)
  • Went up against the Buccaneers.

With that being said his performance was VERY refreshing.

You would think we would entertain an offer from a team like Arizona

isn't that where he played in 2010? i remember there being a big stink over someone laughing on the sidelines during a loss and i'm pretty sure it was DA… it was referenced and heavily criticized when we picked him up
