The Patriots are the only team that hasn't went through cycles over the last 15 years. Pretty much every other team is up and down. 3-5 year window to compete for a title, then 2-3 year rebuild process. Rinse and repeat.

Carolina was a legit contender from 03-05. Then they retooled and had another window in 08-09. Unfortunately several of those years the team suffered a bunch of crucial injuries.

The Saints have ran their course and need a rebuild. It's even worse because Brees is at the end of his career. They'll be the Aints again before you know it.

 

And that's because they've had Brady most of that time. Jury's still out if they'll have a QB ready when he retires or if they'll go on a mammoth down cycle. A good QB is everything.
