Ealy - it will take time.  He's got some good tools for his size, but he's got to translate them better to be more effective.

DE is one of the hardest positions in the NFL, much less for a dude who is just a rookie who has hit the rookie wall.

But, you know, let's just judge his performance off of his tackles and not his ability to set the edge and get pressures.

you're going to have to do a little more work than pulling up his stats on NFL.com to analyze the performance of a rookie DE i'm sad to say

 

also unless the panthers cancelled their strength and conditioning program and are just suggesting that the players hit up their local planet fitness and kind of do their own thing i think your second point will be addressed one way or another
