Kony ealy at DT

Kuech the Sneak

Recommended Posts

If he was a slow-starter at DE, the position he was largely drafted for, then maybe he needed to start to figure that out before they moved him inside as well.

what made Ealy valuable as a prospect was he was so good at DT in addition to DE, like Justin Tuck or Michael Bennett. Here is a full breakdown including film:

Rotoworld:

"Ealy was actually a more effective interior rusher at Mizzou, and drew a pre-draft comparison to Seahawks star DE/DT Michael Bennett from NFL Films' Greg Cosell... Greg Cosell said that Ealy fits the NFL's current trend of finding base DEs that can shift inside on pass-rushing downs, Cosell mentioned Seattle's Michael Bennett as an example"

Greg Cosell on Ealy:

"I wouldn't necessarily call him explosive, he'll need work to become a true pass rusher. .. I think that Ealy is probably similar to (Bennett) in the way that he'd be utilized in the NFL. A defensive end in the base 4-3 front, who probably moves inside to defensive tackle in the nickel four-man front, or the dime four-man front," Cosell told Midday 180 Radio. "I think that's the kind of player he is."

Gettleman:

”Kony has the ability to be a 4-3 defensive end... but he’s got the ability to go inside as well, which is huge,” Gettleman said. “Kony is very comfortable in there (at DT), He played against his share of big people inside in the SEC, and it was never too big for him. Someone could make the argument that he’s just as productive at the three-technique (DT) as he was outside. That has huge value. ... he can play the three technique (DT) and battle with the big boys," Gettleman said.

Holy crap people.

Ealy is 6'5 280..Sam is 6'2 260

Completely different style DEs and Sam is hard to even fit in a 4-3.

And to acknowledge the actual topic at hand, Ealy is being eased into a Hardy like role.  That was some of his first looks on the inside but I expect that to happen a little more often as time goes by.

I know, but that doesn't mean it all immediately clicked (as early reviews indicate that little click cked with him off the bat) and Carolina needed him more at DE with the Hardy and Frank situations. I'm just speculating either way.

That's exactly what it is, nobodys born with a dong in their mouth, they choose to put it there.

In which reality or on what planet are females born with dicks in their mouths....or any other part of their anatomy?

I'm not a Michael Sam fan by any means, and certainly don't condone his lifestyle. What baffles me is that Sam was in fact a better player than Ealy in college, and yet Ealy gets drafted way higher. Most will say it's because Sam was too small or what not, but the reality is that he's a homo. If Ealy works out in due time, I'll eat my words, but I think that the pick on him was a wasted one. We could have used O-line help or drafted another WR at his spot.

Just my .02 and I realize it's not the popular thing to say, but it's what I believe to be true.

You don't "condone" his lifestyle? What exactly is wrong with his lifestlye?

Ealy could end up being good for us, we'll see. I think he has the desire, which is helpful, but only time will tell and it's fair to give him that. That said, the pick would've been better spent on some sort of linemen, because surely somebody could have been better than Nate Chandler, Amini or Byron bell.

God damn, what is this, 1955?

    • I hope Stewart isn't even on our list of potential 1st round picks and is really low on our list of 2nd and 3rd round picks. He just had a terrifying lack of production for a top 100 pick. He's the type of guy you take a late round flyer on to see if you can make a football player out of an athlete but a pretty good P5 college program failed to do it so your odds aren't great.
