Police report is out: Cam was not at fault

you really don't have to be going fast to roll over, especially in a lifted truck.

for reference, civic rolls in low speed crash:

e: another

That's a fact! Good videos.

I think some people would be shocked at how easily vehicles can flip.

From the illustration Darth posted, it looks like Nestor basically performed an unintentional pit maneuver.

Surprisingly, 25-35 is the ideal speed for ramming.

I'm thankful no one was seriously injured.

1. It's North Carolina. Someone is at fault and someone is getting a ticket. Period.

2. I've driven in every state in the country save for Minnesota and North Dakota and I will unequivocally state North Carolina drivers are the worst I've ever encountered... anywhere... in over 45 years of driving. And I learned how to drive on Southern California freeways.

Not throwing everyone here under the bus, mostly because I know most of you are transplants or don't live in NC to begin with, but just the little things. Like using turn signals, turning left from the left turn lane, not cutting across 2 lanes from the right lane. Driving 55 in the fast lane of a posted 70mph interstate. The turn signal lever is up for "right" and down for "left," it's not supposed to be whichever comes to mind while you decide which way to turn. Stopping at the bottom of a merging on-ramp to an interstate where it says "yield." Going from 0-70 is a lot harder than going from 45-70... it's basic math and physics.

Yeah what the hell is up with that? I'm a North Carolinian, but when I go to others states people don't do that. Here in NC they do it like crazy.

they just need to seal off that W Hill st.  Its pointless.  Its the dumbest intersection I've seen. Cross over a 1 way street onto a freeway on ramp.   People can drive an extra block and turn on the S church st to get on.  Would prevent so many accidents.  Charlotte Engineers, your tax dollars at work.

#1 is false. I have been in 2 (got hit both times) no fault accidents in Greensboro.

#2 is fuging hilariously fact! Born in Greensboro/lived in Charlotte and have been living in Jersey for 20 years. Jersey drivers lack spatial awareness, but NC drivers are special. I still don't understand half of the accidents I've on South Blvd!

I was in an accident in Charlotte and the other driver ran a red light, I tboned him. The initial police report blamed the other driver but his insurance company did not want to pay and argued the police report wasn't credible because he had no eye witness and no evidence. (this was hit and run by the way).

The case sat in limbo for weeks until I got a hold of the 911 transcript and made contact with the witness that took down his license plate.

The point is the police reports are not set in stone and are open to criticism. I would imagine there was more eyewitness testimony and more detailed police work based on the high profile of Cam but a bunch of information that came out proved to be false. We heard Cam's truck flipped 3 or 4 times. That does not appear to be the case. From the latest things I've heard and read the truck turned on it's side  and slid. There was no action movie truck flipping.

As far as speed is concerned. Was Cam going 35? probably not. Was the other driver going 20? Probably not. I'm sure both of those numbers came down but what is the speed where Cam becomes an irresponsible driver? 36? 40? 50? Everyone speeds a little, it's not like he was drunk and going 90.

Guys it's kind of sad you are stalking this other man on Facebook. The guy made a mistake. He probably didn't see the stop sign. He's not a jerk. People make mistakes.

Massachusetts drivers are the biggest fuging morons in the world. Minnesota drivers are right behind them.. Best drivers I've encountered where I was living is Detroit... Have only driven in NC a few dozen times. Lived there before I had my license.

And the Yahoo headline is 'Cam Newton Released From Hospital, Won't Be Charged'.

Wtf is up with the media coverage of this accident? Am I just being over-sensitive? Since when are traffic citations commonly referred to as 'charges'? I understand that they are, but when was the last time you heard 'He was charged with speeding' or something similar?

Yes you are being oversensitive.  Headlines are made to draw attention so it is common for them to sensationalize a headline..  It isn't just Cam that deals with it but any celebrity in any field.  At least he isn't that popular with the tabloids yet which are usually out and out lies.
