Never said that Cam was not a good guy.....because he is.

Just pointing out that his being in an accident is no more "dark or tragic" than someone else....used a surgeon, teacher, firefighter, etc to make a point.

Point is that too many people idolize athletes.

My point is that the fact that people place an athlete on such a pedestal and call them "the biggest icome in the state" kind of shows that the majority of people idolize and value the wrong things.

He is a football player....nothing more.

If you are going to rank things, I would say that a doctor, or a teacher, or a firefighter, etc being in a crash would be more of a tragedy....as they actually provide more to society and life than a person who plays football on Sundays.

I dont know if I would go that far.  Cam, as well as most athletes give back to their communities.  Cam is a role model.  Children do look up to him.  He wasn't doing anything stupid to cause the accident.  Saying hes "just a football player" is a little rash imo. I understand your point though.  Not saying he should be placed on a pedestal but he shouldn't be thrown under the bus either.

And I'm just pointing out that Cam isn't just a typical football player.

I was at the Hornets game when the re-retired his jersey. It was a really emotional moment and the team did right by him and his family. He was an asset to the Charlotte community but made a poor decision. Sounds like a lot of people.  Obviously everyone here critical of him has never made or almost made a tragic or horrific mistake in their life so they are free to criticize posthumously a person.

Just refuse to hold him up like some hero....he was a basketball player who decided that street racing in rush hour traffic was a good decision.

    • Film Room Playlist _ NFL Pro — Mozilla Firefox 2024-11-25 10-20-11.mp4 🎯🎯🎯 There were a couple of "fans" yesterday saying that this wasn't a helmet-to-helmet shot... 👀 Looks like based on where Moore was and where the play ended, he'd have gotten maybe just a yard or two more. Chuba was downed at the KC 16 and Moore was on his way back to the QB, so the offense got what they could for the most part. After reviewing the all-22, Bryce made the right call here. Tremble was the hot and KC sent both LBs. He gets it out with a clear pocket but it's quickly collapsing. If there was a little more time it looked like AT came free at the end but whether or not Bryce would've been upright still is another story. Smart move to get the completion and keep the field goal in play to stay alive. George Karlaftis is about to get himself a big ole hug and Bryce heaves it to where David Moore is going. Trent McDuffie slipped just a step or two before this shot, but we can see the clear DPI here as he's wrapped around David Moore before knocking him over as the ball gets there.
    • I’m taking a TE early day 3 Ian Thomas and Tremble are FA.  We should have no desire to bring them back.   There’s more than enough film of ball bouncing off their hands or facemask.
    • Daniel Jones sometimes would sling it for 300 or 400 yards.  That's my stance.  We know what Bryce is.  If you consistently play any QB at this level, they largely are going to end up w/ some good days/games.  last time Mahomes was at BOA, Teddy Bridgwater threw for 300+ yards and a couple TDs and the Matt Rhule Panthers almost took him down.  We know what Bryce is.  Now we got people predictably falling into a predictable trap.
