Cam Involved in serious car wreck, reportedly uninjured

I don't know what Cam's condition is, but I can tell you that right after an accident like that you have a ton of adrenalin coursing through your veins that makes you feel fine... he reportedly has no major injuries which is great, now we just need to see how he feels when he wakes up tomorrow morning - could be pretty stiff/sore.

Good news is that unlike most of us he has immediate access to world class trainers, doctors and facilities to help deal with any after effects. He's also an elite athlete in prime condition and that vastly reduces the chance of injury and any necessary recovery time.

From an Observer article...

A witness, Tony Douglas, said he was walking on Church Street toward the Transportation Center when he saw a Buick sedan and the Dodge truck collide.

Douglas said the truck was heading south on Church and the sedan was crossing Church from Hill Street when they hit.

The truck flipped several times, he said, coming to rest on its passenger side. Douglas said he ran to the truck and saw the quarterback inside.

Afterward, he said, Newton “was alert. He was in pain.”

The Buick’s driver, writhing in pain on the sidewalk, told police that he was crossing Church Street when a truck “came flying down” the street and struck him.

Both Newton and the other driver were placed on backboards and in neck braces before being transported by ambulance.

The Buick Verano with temporary Georgia license tags later sat in Church Street near its intersection with Hill Street. It had been struck on the front-right side, with the hood buckled and bumper torn off.

Damage to the front right of the car would indicate to me that it did run a stop sign (assuming one is there at that intersection).  I'm familiar with the area, but haven't gone down that street much.

Yea, they definitely need to make him sit this one out. DA already handled business once this year in TB, let him own the Bucs for the year and hope Cam is good for the trip to Cleveland. No risks. Don't even care if we somehow lose to the Bucs because Cam didn't start. Who knows what kind of long lasting effect a random impact from the game could have on him.

Our game against Cleveland is in CAR, aka a home game.

These assholes tweeting that they are happy it happened and it's karma, blah blah blah, are scum of the earth.

Same with what's being said on the Saints forums....just posted a screenshot on my FB

YOU STAY CLASSY NEW ORLEANS, cheering when our qb is down on the field (not even injured, was probably taking a breath from all the RUNNING he was doing on their Defense), and now this? He deserves this? Fingers crossed matt ryan was in the front seat?

what the fug is wrong with people......absolutely sickening to wish that on anyone, I don't care who they are, fuging scumbags

The fact that Cam can walk away from this with no serious injuries means he truly is Superman:

This is why that Damn Thing Rolled over.

Look at the height of that vehicle and it's COG???

Geesh! Let's hope came doesn't have any lingering effects.

I got hit by a Church van years ago at low speed when I was parked at the curb.

I got out, looked at the car, and thought everything was okay, not taking any info from the perpetrators.

Guess what?....Three days later, I had an L5 herniation of my back/lower disc, where I couldn't get out of bed normally for over three weeks. And that was from a low speed collision. On the flip side, people come out of accidents like this (especially when they walk away), and have no lingering injuries as well.

So let's hope Cam's okay and everyone involved are okay.

People will say anything to avoid trouble. Not saying it wasn't Cam's fault, but he did have the right away.
