Where's that trash can from last year?

It's time to put Cam back on the downfield trash can drills.

"Newton capitalized on the running lanes left by the Saints' defense. Of his 83 total rushing yards, 69 came before contact; his average of 5.75 yards per rush before contact was a season high. And of his 12 carries, 10 appeared to be designed rushes. Half of those were zone-read plays, during which he amassed 50 yards. Meanwhile, tailback Jonathan Stewart rushed 20 times for 155 yards. In turn, Newton's rushing success set up play-action passing. He completed 9 of 13 such passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns for a 95.5 QBR on those plays. The Saints did not sack him despite blitzing 47.1 percent of the time, the second-highest rate Newton has faced this season. The blitzes were ineffective overall; Newton was pressured on just 14.7 percent of his dropbacks and completed 3 of 4 passes for 32 yards in those situations. His one shortcoming? He was 0-for-6 on passes that traveled 20 yards or more downfield."

He  put a 40 yarder on KB and it went right through his arms.

Also, that long pass to Brown in the end zone that went through his hands, I think that was the play he injured his shoulder too.

Newton accounted for 4 touchdowns and 309 yards of total offense with a quarterback rating of 114. What are we bitching about again?

Yes.  Cam couldn't have walked out there and put that ball in KB's hands any better...

I recall seeing him miss ONE throw that he should have made.  I'm not saying there weren't probably a few others, but he didn't have many glaring mistakes Sunday.

Some people just don't want to see him succeed.

3 of those deep balls were drops. 1 other looked like a miscommunication. Cam is inconsistent on his deep ball, but watch Brady play for a bit and you'll see Cam is every bit as good as him or even better now. Brady has missed wide open guys deep all year long and all last year. Cam's biggest issue in my opinion is his lack of touch. He's for the most part a very accurate passer but the lack of touch can cause guys to drop balls. Like that pick against the Falcons that went off of Greg's hands. Perfectly accurate and should've been caught but with touch he would've easily caught it and never had it bounce off right into the defenders hands.

    • And meanwhile as we sit here comparing dart throwers, we were one pick from thjs https://x.com/lafullybolted/status/1869949048150503705?s=46&t=JBd6ZXmGQ3LmWL-ineTnAA Hurney knew.
    • When we do surgery to remove a glio, no one says the surgeons are trying to make the brain fail.  the best, actually realistic thing for the panthers as an organization, in the near, medium, and long term, is for Bryce to flame out as quickly and definitively as possible.  they’re never getting anything out of him, the picks are gone. Rip the bandaid off.
    • The other thing about bo is he is the same player in the pros he was in college. He was absolutely a screen mechanic and left for Oregon because you can’t really have success playing qb like that at auburn. They just can’t recruit the players unless they out pay everyone else for cam newton.  Bryce in college was touted as a guy who could make throws to all three levels, hit the whole route tree, brilliant tactician who was “running team meetings,” etc. it’s pretty clear by now Bryce can’t consistently make the throws he did in college, and that’s being kind. He’s also not shown any of this touted football IQ nonsense we were promised. As far as what he supposedly did at Alabama, they’re saying the same thing about Jalen milroe right now and that guys gonna be running routes at the combine. Bo is exactly who he was going to be. Bryce is a fraud and the panthers got rinsed acquiring him. In soviet Russia if you’d given up that much to get great value Bo nix you’d be handed a chambered pistol and a confession to sign.
