Greg Olsen on Cam Newton

Hmmmm...... there's something behind that. Sorry people, I like stirring things up. Seriously though, it has been obvious Olsen has been frustrated (as has been everybody on the team) with the playcalling all season. I think it was a shot at Shula in the most non bashing way. Maybe they finally let Cam control a big % of the offense because I did see Cam call a lot of audibles at the line and also saw him full of energy BEFORE the snap as well (which is something I never saw this year or even last). I also wonder if they allowed Cam to go no huddle when he wanted to too.

First half we were playing fast with Cam having the ability to audible to other plays at the line oof scrimmage.

If you are going to go heavy with read option plays you have to play with pace and audible at LOS.

So no surprise we were more successful running the read option yesterday

I think it was a surprise to Mikey. If not, then that's even worse.

There's also this:

"He helped make offensive coordinator Mike Shula, who has been criticized for his play-calling throughout the six-game losing streak, look brilliant."

There should be a rule against using "mike shula" and "brillant" in the same post.

I want to think that shula would learn from this going forward. But that wouldn't be smart of me.

And alas, lies Newton's frustration and not always playing up to his potential this year.

Besides injuries and coaching issues; both he and the rest of the offense appear discontent with this Head coach and OC.

I loved what the Panthers did yesterday.

We need to temper a bit that it was against an atrocious Saints defense.

We can also look back at Rivera's decision to not go for it against Atlanta and that field goal as the turning point of the season with no doubt.

Nohting good ever comes from constantly shrinking away from an opportunity when it presents its.
