Ron Rivera Will Now Proceed To Save His Job

No one reacts more slowly than Jerry Richardson.

Almost no one...

Waiting to see if this team is truly different than the Hurney years.

Don't care if Rivera refloats his riverboat. He holds back the talent on this team with his conservative nature and poor game management skills unless his job is on the line.

Time for a change and backing into the playoffs with a sub 500 record in a historically bad division shouldn't be considered justification to retain his services.

His allegence to Shula is the most questionable thing...other than that McD has been pretty damn good and I was a huge fan of the innovative Chud. That to me shows Rivera can get good corrdinators and had great ideas coming in..contuniuity with Shula was just highly overratted and hindering Rivera with one year contracts hurt the ability to attract big time coaches.

If he moves away from Shula in the offseason he would redeem shimself to me...as long as we get a good Oc to replace him.

But Rivera still can't coach.

Remember?

Time outs; challenges; clock management; coach management; in game and game to game adjustments and philosophy, etc..

The only way keeping McDermott (who's also been bad) and jettisoning Shula works, is when the games a blow out or a comfortable win, where Ron's coaching doesn't come into play.

The man is just not Head Coach Material. And you don't want a guy like that running your team IMHO. 3 out of 4 losing seasons, and an insistence on a outdated philosophy that doesn't play to his QB's/Offenses strengths, and the current NFL rules.

I think people will lose there job this year no matter what. We are not playing good football and Rivera keeps reminding Dave why he should not be a coach every week win or lose.

Guys its not up to Dave to make that decision, how many times we have to go over with. We just need a new OC that can take advantage of our weapon in the offense, paired that with Ron's defense and we should be winning minimum of 10 games each season for long time.

I could honestly be OK with Rivera staying if he gets a new OC who is a very good OC. Let Ron and McD focus on the defense, and get a guru to whip our offense into shape. We could still be a very very good team.

I've run out of fugs to give for Rivera for the second and last time

The guy takes 3 months to figure out how to win games in the regular season, the lone exception being in 2013. I want a coach that can figure out how to win games in July. It's probably fruitless hoping though because I don't think JR has the fortitude to cut him loose, whether we're 7-8-1 or 4-11-1
