Ron Rivera Will Now Proceed To Save His Job

As my avatar has said for a month. "You can't fire me!".

Today's victory was nice but trivial in the big Panther picture.

Sub par performances are acceptable in Charlotte and has been for quite some time.

John Fox carded records of 7-9, 7-9, 8-8, 7-9, 8-8, 2-14 mixed with moderate success before he was finally shown the door.

Ron Rivera will be expected to do no more.

Just being close, especially after last seasons surprising regular season finish will be enough to assure at least two more years of Rivera's misplaced contract extension this past off season being brought to fruition.

Get ready for more Ron.

No one reacts more slowly than Jerry Richardson.

If the team gets to the playoffs, I think he'll be here next year for sure (unfortunately).

If the team doesn't get to the playoffs, but doesn't get embarrassed either, I also think he'll be here next year. (Again, unfortunately.)

If the team gets blown out and embarrassed in the last few games he may get the boot... but it's still not guaranteed.

But who knows... we'll see how it goes.

How many times have we already been embarrassed this season? How many times does it take?

His allegence to Shula is the most questionable thing...other than that McD has been pretty damn good and I was a huge fan of the innovative Chud. That to me shows Rivera can get good corrdinators and had great ideas coming in..contuniuity with Shula was just highly overratted and hindering Rivera with one year contracts hurt the ability to attract big time coaches.

If he moves away from Shula in the offseason he would redeem shimself to me...as long as we get a good Oc to replace him.

For once, I just want to enjoy the win this Sunday against a team I truly despise and let the chips fall as they may.

Cam played out of his mind today...granted the Saints aren't a defensive juggernaut but I'll take it.  The young secondary did good and we might just have found an oline that only needs an upgrade at LT and a backup/replacement for Kalil.

Its a long time coming.  Be happy.

I've got to deal with this team having a late season garbage time wins run so nobody gets fired in January for doing a piss poor job for most of the season, plus, this is going to be the second year in a row I walk into the playoffs no. 1 in my fantasy league and then proceed to get the living poo kicked out of me by the 8th ranked team, all because half my players want to fumble the fuging ball this week

If anyone needs me I'll be in the angry dome

    • You need a WR that is THE guy. There’s only guy in this draft who can be that. You must continue to invest in the investment you made in Bryce.
    • Kootchie forever to be the answer to a quiz question.
    • Try to trade back, but in order of preference... Mason Graham, DL, Michigan - Possibly the top DT in the draft Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State - TE1 plus clear top 10 talent in this draft class that fills a need. Can block, open up things underneath, run after the catch, and run the seam. Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE, Boston College - My favourite EDGE prospect to have scouted this offseason outside of 2023 JT Tuimoloau and 2024 Abdul Carter. Let him rotate behind Clowney/Wonnum and then potentially start on the weakside. Jalon Walker, LB/EDGE, Georgia - Would fit Evero's scheme insanely well and pair well with Wallace who could be the coverage LB while Walker is the guy that the QB has to guess if he's coming or not. Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State - Will immediately fill in for AT once he's gone (or if he goes down) and is able to run a large portion of the route tree. Malaki Starks, S, Georgia - His freshman + sophomore tape is elite and he'd immediately start as FS1. Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia - Loooooooong arms and other traits that gives him the prototypical build that scouts loves. Also showed elite tape as a freshman as a 3-4 OLB, showed out well as a sophomore, but his recent season he played with an injured ankle all season long. Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Texas A&M - Insane measurables, solid pressure rate, good run stopper, but there's questions galore about that pressure to 4.5 sacks rate. Will Johnson, CB, Michigan - Mike Jackson's deal allows him to be cut after just one season if the Panthers find a partner to put across from Jaycee Horn. James Pearce Jr, EDGE, Tennessee - Lots of questions due to recent reports regarding character and coachability, but performed against top SEC talent at a position of need for the Panthers. Armand Membou, OT, Missouri - Word is that Moton's knee is done and the Panthers need to find an RT for life afterwards. The preferred method would be to bring in a guy to develop behind Moton for a season, but having Membou means having a big body that can plug in right away should Moton go down. This would leave Christensen to take over at any other spot on the line should there be another injury.
