Wow when Cam has time....

You do not have to praise Cam Newton when his qb rating is 78. That requires excuses. And if you question a QB with a 78 qb rating, you have every right to do so with the stats to back you up--not excuses.. The same line, the same WRs, etc. were on the field today that many were blaming for Cam's lack of success this season. The same OC was calling plays, the same head coach. The biggest difference I saw was that Cam was decisive and threw the ball quickly. He was accurate with the passes he throws well, and he even threw a nice deep ball with touch. His feet are still out of position a lot when he throws and his weight is leaning toward his back foot. Look at these things instead of the score board, but progress was made. I simply worry about Cam having to run to be an effective QB. QB dives--not draws--on short yardage cannot be sustained over a season/career. Nice to feel a win again, however.

Cam played well, but if you watched the game and think he was accurate, watch it again. He missed easy passes and made unforced errors--however, his decision-making was so much better. He threw some bad balls. His mechanics need a lot of work. He cannot sustain the hits he takes playing this way. He stretched the defense, showed run early to keep them from blitzing as much (NO is famous for blitzing), and the run game was awesome. This was one game against the 30th defense in the league. While I was pumped, I caution anyone reading too much into this. When we run the table in similar fashion, I will start to feel better.

What I liked was the fact that Cam was not perfect--he missed easy targets and he made a few bad reads, but we won behind him.

Let's not underestimate the game the defense played.

You have got to be trolling.. Are f'n serious??

You didn't notice the oline playing better, J Stew providing a consistent running option outside of Cam, the defense being stout. These were the differences in what we seen for most of the season. It had a obvious effect on how well our QB played today.

It's not a freak occurrence that when the surrounding cast does their job. Cam does his job.

If this is the new shula he might survive to next season. God help us.

He'll go back to the status quo, don't worry. We already knew Shula could call a good game, he did it many times last year. We knew what worked for our personnel and he has refused to call it this year until week 12 or whatever this was. It's not enough to save his job.

The only problem I have with this is the news we found out this week, that Shula only allows Cam to audible 35% of the plays. Can't expect him to improve much, with that in mind.

Maybe that is what changed in this game.  If the Panthers believe in Cam, they need to let him take full control.

I swear some of you don't watch football outside of Panthers games.

Did anyone watch the patriots-chargers game last night?

Both those "elite" qbs looked like utter garbage for long stretches last night.

Brady under threw Gronk by like 20 feet for a pick and Rivers threw at least three different short passes into the fuging dirt. And that's just to name a few of them.

Could have been what changed, but I'm not so sure Shula is the one that let it happen.  That didn't look like a Shula called offense to me.  I saw more audibles, hand signals I've never seen before, plays I've not seen all season, pass to set up the run, etc.  I'd like to find some kind of confirmation that Shula was actually the one calling plays yesterday... it just didn't look familiar at all.

Why is this guy even around?

He made like two bad throws compared to 20 great ones. Go back under your bridge troll.
