Why would Cam stay in Carolina?

Lol...

There have been nearly 30 QBs drafted #1 overall the the NFL/AFL. After 3 seasons Cam's 25 wins ranked 2nd behind only Peyton's 26 wins. Cam has won more games through his first 4 seasons than almost any of them did. Carolina isn't as terribly ran as some of y'all think. It takes time.

This place should be renamed Chicken Little Headquarters.

That is really not saying much. Three losing seasons out of four is nothing for you to brag about.

silly to talk about really....

When considering what he has vs what others have.....is so drastically different.

Look at the O around Luck....then around Cam.  There is a reason why one TEAM is winning and the other isn't.  It isn't the QB.

He will stay because he cannot go anywhere until 2018 unless we let him

that's not true.

plus, you think a NFL team is going be successful paying a franchise tag for seasons for a QUARTERBACK that wants out?  I mean I don't know Cam....but if Cam wanted to flex his muscle he has more than people acknowledge.  Can pay tag money to a guy wanting out.

This is the million dollar question.

That's the thing.

People always want to speculate about NFL free agents like it's the NBA, where the player has all the power.

The NFL is set up to give the teams more power in keeping players.  If the Panthers truly want to keep Cam long term (I have no doubt they do), I'm 99% sure it will happen.

Doug Williams, Doug Flute and Steve Young come to mind. Rich Gannon, although there was a strange circumstance.

So basically none in like the past 15 years?

Football has changed a lot since the guys you mentioned played.

Teams never let franchise qbs walk. Carolina has been more than vocal about cam being that for us. He'll get his extension in the offseason than insanely annoying and naive threads like this can stop

Because we are the Panthers! One of the greatest and winningest franchise's of all time. We have a long history of victory and domination over our sad little opponents. We have the greatest coaching staff ever assembled. We also have an owner who can draw a pie chart like no other. The nipple shorts is irresistible and Cam is a short hop down the 85 for Thanksgiving dinner at his mommy's house.

Seriously good question. I don't know. It still might not be enough.

Did I forget to mention the O-line? Maybe that will do it?

I began looking at draft history starting a few decades back and stopped somewhere in the 80's. Just never finished the list.
