Don't you hate when Cam overthrows a WR deep on 3rd and short

Not saying Cam hasn't had check down opportunities because he has, that last game was the most checkdowns he's thrown all season. The problem is these down field slow developing routes Shula dials up. Shula Rarely calls routes over the middle of the field, seems like these routes are always to the sidelines.

When was the last time we have seen a deep post down the middle of the field or a HB swing pass?

The last time I remember Cam throwing a deep post I believe was the Giants game last year.  HB swings are not a big part of Chud or Shula's offense.  They do more screen passes

Whether it is by design or what Cam is seeing on the field, I don't know.

There is also the whole o-line not giving us time for double moves or deep routes issue

The real question is why the coaches are calling plays that keep Cam behind the offensive line. Granted, that's what Shula understands, but play action rollouts have existed forever. It's not some unique new thing. Get Cam moving and put a linebacker into a situation where he has to commit to coverage or Cam.

Regardless of philosophy, anyone should be able to see the line can't block, and keeping the QB in the pocket for these plays is is akin to handing him a blindfold and cigarette.

Well, I kind of understand why we don't roll out much.  If your OTs are getting pushed back everytime you are just rolling into the DE or the back of an OT.

You also have to establish some sort of run game first.

But I would like to see us use roll outs in certain situations like second and short when the line is more crowded and stuff like that.

so you have a tight end crash down on the defensive end. This isn't hard; football is not a complicated game.

defensive lines are completely selling out on the run because A.) the panthers don't disguise it very well and B.) they won't have any problem getting through the offensive line if its play action.

Issue to me is not overthrowing, many times the coverage is good on our receivers because...well, their our receivers, so he has to have a perfect throw.  Bigger issue is calling this ridiculous plays EVERY fuging TIME.  Denver and peyton do it to keep the defense honest, we do it, because it's the only fugen play call we have for 3rd and short apparently.  I do have some issues with Cam, and doubts about him being the future has crept in, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until the moronic neanderthal grunting plays calls to our offense is fired.

He had more bad throws that game as well. The issue is most on this board only watch Panthers games. Every game you can give example after example of elite QB's making bad throws but for some reason these people hold Cam to a higher standard.

It's true. But 2 extra bad throws a game is the difference between a 54% completion rate and a 60%. The former is considered bad and the latter good.

Cam has proven when he gets time, and his WRs are open, he makes the play. There is no need to defend cam because the doubters will always be there after a loss. Its obvious that Shula has done what he has to every team he has coached for and that's make it worse.
