  1. 1. Should Gettleman be fired?

Not happening and shouldnt even be grounds for discussion. He did a horrible job this offseason in almost every way but he's drafted pretty well and made the playoffs last year. He's got at least 2 more seasons of being this bad before it's even considered as a possibility.

He's drafted well and gone quite a ways in fixing what was an unholy cap mess. Plus he got us a roster that got us to a 12-4 season even with Rivera coaching.

But yeah, fire him two years into the rebuild and start all over again. Hell, why not?

Unfair to claim he drafts well at this point. Did Hurney draft well.....some say no. Hitting on early picks never got Hurney much cred.

Dave also had a pick stolen. Hurney at least aggreesivly screwed up....Dave was foolish. He of all GMs outside of the one in NY should of known better.

Plus there is always he Colbert caution

He's drafted OK. And, remember, I wouldn't fire him. But I also wouldn't fire Rivera for reasons that have apparently been born of this "unholy cap mess."  Rivera coached this team to a 12-4 season last year, not Gettleman.

Sorry but I don't give a guy credit for "aggressively screwing up".

He traded away high future picks for Everette Brown and Armanti Edwards.  I'm not gonna be cool with that just because it was "aggressive".

No team that can rent a 13 million dollar DE for a season.....HAS to go as cheap as we did all over the place. Plus we didn't even go cheap....we went flat out bad at T.

It was a bad year to need OLinemen.........quite a few teams out there still do.

and no one knew the Ray Rice thing would blow up the way it did so I don't blame Gman.

Although.........fans would be bowing to him if he had let him walk.

The team is unprepared every week and the coaching has been terrible. Not Daves fault, he at least gets one more offseason.

So, it's all coaching and no fault of the players---players that G-man was responsible for bringing in (and not bringing in as the case may be)?

Why does no one seem to understand that Hardy franchise tag was a good thing. No one knew the events that would transpire.

Plus it is essentially a one year deal.

Yes we may have gotten a couple OTS and maybe a defender with that 13 million.

But how many quality players are going to take a one year deal this day and age?? None. We would have been exactly where we are anyway!! Either that or we have little to no money for future FAs or to extend Cam and Luke because of those multi year contracts

Hardy deal only had us on the hook one more season. Now cap space clears up and maybe we get Luke or Cam extended.

Even now it isn't the worst move, because it still frees up future flexibility.

This cap deal is not going to be a quick fix.

I don't like this notion that a GM and head coach are handcuffed, for better or worse.  Hurney had his faults independent of coaching the players, and his dismissal was needed and long overdue.  But Ron stayed because of continuity and progress was being made with a young QB.

Now that that very same coach looks as inept on the sidelines as an autistic corpse, but Gettleman is continuing to relieve the franchise of Hurney's charity and position us for the future, I don't see why DG and JR can't collectively agree that our coaching staff blows and we need to make a change.

I mean if we can all fugging see it, they can see it.  And they need to do it.

I don't believe in renting a player for that amount of money, especially when you are already cash-strapped and have so many holes to fill on the O-line.

I proposed it then: I would have tried to trade Hardy (if I had signed him at all) to the Raiders for Jason Veldheer, Denarius Moore and possibly Lamarr Houston, or gotten some other Band-Aid pass rusher to fill in the gap as we find Hardy's successor.

Tagging Hardy was a questionable thing then, and it turned out to be a terrible thing for us now.

I thought Brown was bad...Edwards? Not a bad gamble. Just didn't work. Happens.

You don't have to be cool with it. Don't be cool with Dave paying and wasting a pick that is in NE though.
