  1. 1. Should Gettleman be fired?

Yes in fact I do, if not more games the offense would atleast be better. When Lafell made his comments about Pats practice harder, the huddle laughed and brushed him and you see its obviously true by games performances. Jeremy in training camp talk about the team lackadaisical attitude and that's cause nobody pushes anybody to be better especially the head coach. Steve shouldn't have to be hard on players, thats something Rivera should be doing.

Fair enough.  Systems have a lot to do with it as well though, IMO.  Our system, well... sucks.  If Smitty were still here, he'd still be the #1.  In Bmore, he's a slot guy, and I fully believed, even before we cut him, that he'd be a monster in the slot... even at 35.  You know we'd have him right there at the #1 here though.  NE is playing LaFell to his strengths, which we have been very poor at.  That's why I asked, "considering the mess as a whole,"

Steve Smith not in the slot in Baltimore. He's their number 1 receiver, Marlon and Jacoby is in the slot. I think we had a  group of guys with interesting attitudes like Steve Hardy Mitchell TD that overcame Ron Rivera and his coaching style and demeanor. We was a couple losses last season away in the beginning of 2013 from Rivera most likely being fired probably on the spot, until a meeting was called by the players lead by "Steve Smith" and Ron helped too I give credit by going for on 4th downs, that's about it and we turned this team around. 3 out of the 4 away and now its just Ron, and now we just suck

I've seen him line up #2 and in the slot more than anything, but I know what you're getting at.

One pass, two yards this past Sunday.

His production had already started dropping off well before that.

Pace slowing, production declining for Steve Smith in past four games

The previous game he had 4 for 89 and a TD.

The Ravens are a run heavy offense and he's their #1 WR.

He's also old for a WR, and I don't doubt he's not in his prime.

He's also come out and publicly taken the blame on his own shoulders.

89 isn't there #1. Never was. A flukey 4 game revenge streak made him get silly hype

Torrey Smith will finish the year as the best WR in Balt.

Pretty irrelevant cherry picking going on here.

I know. This can be done with ninety something percent of the receivers in the game.  Bottom line is that he's headed for another 1000 yard year, which is really the litmus test for a productive WR in the league.

The people trying to take away from his production would have guessed that he wouldn't be anywhere near 1000.  All he has to do is get 45 yards per game from here on out.  I bet you that he gets to 1100 (and another couple of TDs) which is pretty damned good for an old receiver.

flukey and football don't even belong in the same sentence do you guys even watch the ravens game.......tired of this steve smith was coasting bullshit. everyone's quiet when he's playing good but quick to the gun as soon as he has a bad game. this is not a smith thing, any player whoever played decent for us gets the same treatment can't name a former player that doesn't get poo after he leaves the team

WR #1 isn't based on stats, it is based on where they line up the majority of the snaps.

Smith being some sort of inspirational leader is as big a myth as the idea that he's have produced big numbers this season with us.

Smitty this season played hard until after he played us, then his production dropped off.  It picked up again for one game - the Saints, a team he hates - and then last week he was good for all of one catch for two yards.

He was coasting through his final years here, and everyone knew it.  That made him no longer worth the headache.

Yeah everyone knows SS just likes to coast. LMFAO.

If he isn't the player he was it is age not effort holding him back.

Now that he is gone I guess we can just rewrite history.
