  1. 1. Should Gettleman be fired?

Top 5 reason why I would consider firing Gettleman.

1. The Steve Smitty cut - don't care

2. Gross retiring - gross was going to retire anyways

3. Offensive Line situation - he couldn't have done anything that any fan would have been happy with.

4. Harper - a veteran safety behind what was suppose to be an elite front seven? Signed up!

5. Not getting Cam extended as of yet - I knew cam wouldn't be extended yet.

i responded to you're lame reasons.

I disagree with this statement partly because God c make the impossible possible, and partly because he made some moves that digressed a superbowl contender into a pathetic basement dweller.

He is not exempt from criticism in the regard of the Greg Hardy fail, Steve Smith fail, Tyler Gaffney fail, Jason Avant cut, the mindset that welcomes Mike Shula in a play-calling position, Jordan Gross situation, and rag-tag offensive line philosophy that bewilders even the casual fan/armchair gm.

LoL... religion

Cutting Steve Smith was not a fail. It was a great move that saved nearly $35m in cap space from 2014-16.

I find it funny that 90% of the users who dislike Dave use the SS89 situation as a reason for why they think he sucks.

Keeping SS89 would've been the worse roster move in franchise history.

What about the fact that none of his FA signing this year are working for the team....

And i think Dave should keep his job but be honest he didn't have a good off-season.

Here's my argument for not wanting Gettleman.

For someone who claimed to want to build from the trenches out, Gettleman ignored the poo out of the offensive line. He knew for two years that Gross would retire when his contract was up, and Wharton would probably go with him, but he sat on his hands and tried to play the surprised/no money card when he left. LT is one of the most important positions on the line, and we left it ignored.

My second gripe with Gettleman is the handling of the Smitty release. I get that Smitty probably needed to be cut for cap reasons, but doing it in the fashion that he did is not fuging cool. Also, Smitty would've still been the best reveiver on our team this season.

Thirdly, I feel like Gettleman is helping spread the epidemic of not being accountable. Just because you say, "well shucks, this season is gonna be hard folks!" and then hide your fat ass in your office to avoid the media and their questions while the season burns down around you... That, to me, is on the same level as Rivera throwing random player B under the bus after a loss.

I get no money and Hurney and whatever else, but I think there's got to be someone better at the job than Gettleman. Becoming complacent with "good enough" and the status quo is part of the problem here. Gettleman, to me, is getting by because he's just good enough.
