Thank god you're not in charge then because bias gets franchises in trouble.

See our own history.

I would have fired Hurney with Fox...

Not doing so is what basically cost Ron and wasted 4 years essentially. Dave is doing now what should of been done when Ron was hired.

Now again, we fire Ron and limit our coaching search to guys who our players fit or again we waste more time slowly turning it over.

I think GMs and HCs should mostly come and go together. Sure, exceptions for great ones. That has cost us IMO.

So that is why I want to quit the cycle. New coach, new GM. Build it right. Unless you part with Cam off the bat. Cam won't belong to Dave or new HC....and Cam doesn't fit all offenses.

Hate to break it to you, but we don't "have" Hardy. He can go as soon as free agency starts. Or do you honestly believe they are going to re-sign him and/or franchise tag him again? That is the only way he could be a Panther next year.

Yes, we do "have" Hardy. We will be able to either tag him again or resign him before anyone else can. It's likely that we let him walk, but he is still ours until to keep.

Yes. I said I was biased.

Hurney drafted well....in reality. So?

Any GM could of game and after Hurney was fired under the instruction to fix the salary cap....and note improvement.

Again, Dave doesn't actually have the resume to get all the blind support IMO he has gotten from day 1. I also think the Hurney card is overplayed.

He has shown some real stubbornness/ego since he arrived. Saw a glimpse his first year.....burned us this year. Dave thought he could improve us in actual on field talent this year.....he didn't. He was betting on find more lottery tickets in the dumpster and being cheap.....opting to go all in on a rental DE to make his NYG model D. Dave's moves this offseason gave us no shot....even if Hardy had played

Hurney drafted well?

Seriously?

Dude, your credibility is pretty much out the window with that suggestion.  Hurney hit on first round picks (when he didn't trade them away) but beyond that a look at the draft history during his tenure does not merit a conclusion that he 'drafted well', especially not when you look at the trades he made.

That, plus the ridiculous contracts he paid out is what put us in a position to need help.

He hit on some like Captain, Hardy, CJ, Kalil, but some of the other deals were terrible.

HC & OC- Gus Malzahn

DC- someone with NFL HC & DC experience

ST- don't care. A used toilet plunger would be an upgrade at this point.

Cammy Cam would take the league over with his old playcaller leading him.

Cam likely wouldn't make it to week 8 of his old play caller relied upon him like he use to. This ain't the SEC...

My bet is that Ron is back next season. Shula may be fired, but i still wouldnt put money on it.

I don't think they can keep him at this point, fan base would literally riot if he's kept. Just like I'll riot if the new coach isn't an offensive minded young coach. Tired of DC's that don't care about offense or stepping on throats by pushing the score.

You compare Hurney's years to all other teams.....yes, he drafted well. Carolina fans dismiss his early picks. But he hit on nearly all of them....and you can't say that about most teams.

Luke

Newton

Stewart

Otah

Beason

Williams

Davis

Gross

Peppers

That is all first round picks.....which is arguably the best usage of first round selections in the NFL over that span.

So you can discredit Hurney and just look at his 2nd and 3rd rounders when Carolina hit it out of the park so consisant in round 1. Name 2 other teams that hit on the first round like that over that time span.

Hurney issue wasn't he drafted poorly......he gave horrible contracts and was overly loyal. Also was weak in FA.

Bad drafter? Nah. Too many other teams were actually bad at it. Yeah, he gambled some that blew up but again compare it overall to other teams.....drafting isn't what he did poorly. It was mostly everything else that came with the job
