Who's the better team: 20 years later

I know we are a frustrated fan base - the model of inconsistency. But the only team I think it is fair for us to compare our history with is a team that came out the same year - the Jaguars. In 20 seasons, we have both seen success and failure. Our records are remarkably similar:

Jags 145 wins, Panthers 147 wins. 

Jags 5 postseason wins, Panthers 6 postseason wins

 

So my questions to our hurting fan base - who is better? Who is in best shape for the future?

jacksonville and carolina are essentially the same damn team.

Jacksonville has a crapload of salary cap that they will be forced to use at some point

Based on record, we're slightly better.  As for who is in better shape for the future; I don't know.  I don't really know Jacksonville's roster like that, but looking at our roster, I would say we've got some pieces.  Both franchises are hot garbage, though.  Bottom tier type franchises.

Back when I decided on which franchise I was going to like, if I had known then what I know now about how this team operates I would have chosen someone else to root for.

It's funny that the majority of this fan base bashes and laughs at JAX as being a bottom feeding shít stain.

We are their identical twin.

They had a big lead on us during the Brunell years, the Fox years allowed us to close in a bit, but then after Del Rio/Garrard collapse they have been worse than us (even with the Moore/Clausen year and this year).

We got lucky.  Honestly, that's the biggest difference.

Jacksonville doesn't have a fanbase where as the Carolina Panthers fans would buy PSLs to watch various NFL players take a crap on our entire team.

 

Not sure which is worse. Why would any owner of the Panthers improve the team when the fans are happy with anything? Where as Jacksonville will have to relocate eventually.

Jax has way too much young talent and cap flexibility to not be good sooner than later.

 

Not to mention a coach that has a lot of potential

Panthers have been to the Superbowl, Jags haven't.  More wins overall.  No contest.

Jax had like a string of 3 good years.  We've never had back to back winning seasons.  They have better, but not by much.  That is sad considering Panthers sell a LOT more tickets and have most likely spent more money.
