Hornets aggressively looking to upgrade Wing/Power Forward - Appear to be looking to move Stephenson

I'd rather keep Marvin as a backup SF & trade him next year as an expiring. Package Lance & Hendo for a starting PF.

Forwards...

MKG/Marvin

???/Zeller

Marvin is a terrible PF, & it's just magnified playing beside Al's black hole defense. But he's still a very solid SF & can spread the floor & hit 3s. Plus he can step in & start if the oft-injured MKG is out.

He is a career 33% shooter from 3.  Not great by any means.

Marvin is just no longer an impact player.  He is here until next year when he gets shipped off as an expiring.

Word on the street is that MJ has been saying we never should have let McBob go. He thinks Joshy was a good distributor and helped tons with our chemistry.

Losing mcbob and Hayward was never the issue. It was the signings that replaced them that is the problem.

Say what you want about Lance, but I would much rather have him on a team friendly deal than overpaying to bring back McBob and add Hayward. As you can see, with Lances deal, it's much easier to put him on the trade block as opposed to Hayward, and there's no guarantee Hayward would have worked here, either.

Lance wouldn't be a problem if MKG and Kemba were reliable shooters.

Again, this team screwed up when it drafted MKG in a year when everyone knew that it's biggest need was SHOOTING. You all can blame Stephenson now, but you're just doing so to avoid the real issue...the 2012 Draft.

They could've had anyone they wanted except Anthony Davis, and a team that needed shooting took the one guy who couldn't shoot a rock into the ocean.

And a guy who everyone knew wouldn't be able to stay healthy either.

You're also ignoring the idiotic contracts given to Henderson and Marvin Williams, which most of you didn't have a problem with. Yeah, trade Stephenson because no one wants Henderson and Williams for what they're being paid this year.

Yeah, lance hasn't been great, but for the fans to attempt scapegoating Lance as the problem to justify trading him? You guys are insane.

Kemba should have never been resigned to that AWFUL deal, Marvin shouldn't start, Alfense needs to go, Lance obviously isn't being respected behind closed doors. It's a mess. Cho and Clifford have got to find something.

To be fair, Alfense and Kemba made the playoffs last season. This team should not be 4-14 and as many other problems as the team has, lance brought this on himself by not playing within the system, not shooting well, and being demonstrative on the court. He might as well be a quicker, more athletic Gerald henderson right now.

Being fans, we all saw the glass half full in the offseason, but this was a gamble, and one that Cho and company rightfully made. It just hasn't worked out.

I haven't been able to watch the last few games but the issues I see are

1. The zero-effort defense by Big Al

2. Kemba has been playing hurt and has struggled to distribute and shoot

3. The complete and utter disappointment that is Gerald Henderson

4. MKG's injury

5. Marvin Williams has been less than expected

6. Lack of shooters

7. Isolation-based offensive game plan (may be a result of the previous issues)

    • I didn't say much bigger. Watch the highlights I linked. Bryce doesn't have the arm strength and/or talent to make the vast majority of the throws Mac made in that video.
    • Tetairoa McMillan.   The last 28 1st overall picks were either a QB, DE, or OT. Seeing as I don't think we'd take an OT in the 1st and give up on Ickey as an LT yet and there doesn't seem to be a clear overall #1 type of QB or DE pick this year, it very well could be a non conventional #1 overall this year, at least in regards from the last almost 3 decades of drafts. If we didn't have Horn, I'd be more open to Hunter as a CB at #1, but we have him so another CB wouldn't be how I'd use a #1 pick.  And as much as I love Legette, if we have SB contending aspirations, I don't think Legette is a #1 on a team like that, but he damn sure is an elite #2 on a team like that.  He's more of the Smith/Higgins/Waddle to Brown/Chase/Hill (in terms of role/impact, not style of play of course). T-Mac is going to be the top ranked WR on every team's board in the end.  He is going to be a true outside #1 WR who is viewed as a consensus Top 5 WR in the game by his second contract in the same way guys like Jefferson and Chase have done.  His height combined with his speed, athleticism, and hands are near impossible to find all in one player, there is a reason his generally used comp is Mike Evans (although as he's not as thick, I personally see him more as an AJ Green). Yes, as an Arizona alum I've admitted to having bias towards the player to begin with.  But he's also someone very widely being put into the Top 5 in mock drafts lately and most of them have him as the first non QB offensive player being taken, so it's not really THAT much of a homer pick on my part anyways. If a QB or DE truly separate themselves as being a can't miss prospect come draft day, I'm open to that discussion, but until then, or if it doesn't happen, T-Mac is my pick 100 times out of 100.
