Does Cam want to go?

Cam Newton is not a Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, or any other future HOF QB.

 

Fact is he's incredibly inconsistent with his accuracy and decision making. He flashes like a GOAT one play/week, and the next week fans are calling for his backup by halftime. To me, that's coaching. Rivera isn't the type of HC this team needs with a player like Cam. Sean Payton is the type of HC he needs. Chip Kelly took Mark Sanchez and made him into a superstar. And let's be honest, most of us thought Sanchez wasn't an NFL caliber QB 3 weeks ago.

 

Build the oline - with a heavy focus on LT . Bring in one more young WR stud. And replace Rivera and Shula with a more dynamic, offensive minded, high octane crew. QB is the hardest part to get right. I think it's in place. Now the GM that was brought in to clean this mess up needs to do his job.

I think anyone that has ever worked for a dysfunctional organization would understand why Cam would consider the open market rather than staying with the Panthers.

I could also understand why Gettleman and a new HC might want to go in another direction at QB.

Hopefully things start to come together for this organization in the next two years and Cam gets the support he needs to be successful, but if it isn't meant to be, I'll wish him the best of luck and hope he lands with a team that better utilizes his talents.

If Cam ever leaves........... we'll be stuck with a Gabbert or Clausenesque type of qb..  since we,  as a franchise,  do not believe in building around qbs..  We'll be switching out qbs on a year to year basis..

 

While Cam will go to a team that has a decent  Oline,  decent receivers,  OC and a run game........and tear it up.   

So DA is a "Gabbert or Clausenesque type of qb"?

Let's put this Cam trade or let walk to rest. He isn't going anywhere. He'll sign this off season.

2013 spoiled us. Some great FA moves made us relevant. Gettleman has his plan and we need (as fans) to understand that. I know many of you forget or refuse to believe the mess Gettleman inherented from Hurney. It may be another season before we are relevant again.

The last thing you do is let your 2 time Pro Bowler leave. You don't allow any of your core players go.

I think Cam is a Franchise QB who is beaten up right now and gets sacked too much. It shouldn't even be a question that we sign him long term.

 

I think the people that want him traded believe that we can magically draft Jameis Winston and we will be playoff bound.

 

We could draft prime Peyton Manning and this team would still be trash. I want to see him traded because Cam deserves better than this. He deserves to see what it's like to work with a competent front office and a real coaching staff. Instead of going down as one of the greats, he's going to go down as one of the great what-ifs. We were handed a franchise QB on a gold plate and we screwed it up completely. We deserve everything bad that happens to us.
