Does Cam want to go?

Lol Cam blamers. If you can't see its the play calling and a crap oline you don't know football.

The OL actually played well yesterday....and Cam still consistently missed recievers.

What I am questioning is ......"what happened to his deep ball".

That was his best attribute his first season.  Now he overthrows every deep pass he attempts.  I am not sure what is causing it, but it is pretty obvious when you watch this season's games.

It wasn't the offense that spotted Minnesota 14 points. Take that away and it's a close game, definitely winnable.

Ultimately it's up to the coaching staff to put the players in the best situation to succeed. That has not been happening. Period.

Last week I watched Peyton Manning overthrow his WR on 2nd and 2 for a touchdown and then overthrew him again on 3rd and 2 for a touchdown. What did they do? Went for it on 4th and 2 and got it. If you watch other QBs they make bad throws all game. The difference is the players around them consistently make plays. Cam doesn't have that, so his mistakes look worse than they are. Nobody talks about the KB drop in the red zone that stalled another drive.

Some of you would be very surprised to find out that Cam won't draw as much attention in FA as u think.

We're not talking about Peyton manning or Tom brady.

We're talking about a QB with a losing record and who can't find an open receiver to save his life right now.

I put a years salary that no less then 10 teams would jump at the chance to get Cam..

I love Cam, but when you look at the top 5 money guys, Cam just isnt even close... yet. He has a lot to learn. I mean if Brady's contract is 5 yrs for $70mil, how could one justify paying Cam 6 years for $120 or whatever the assumed amount is going to be? We all scoffed at the Bengals and 9ers, think at all the other fans that will do the same if the Panthers shelled out that money for a guy with less track record. I know Cam is hurt but he sure isnt putting this team on his back this year like the top 5-10 guys would.

Put Cam's 1st 4 season against the top 5 1st 4 years. . You will notice not much difference...Except Cam playing with the worst surrounding cast. .

Your best deep ball WR is a un drafted rookie. .

If I am Cam....I don't sign an extension. Too much uncertainty. I tell Dave with all the personel changes and soon to be coaching changes.....extension talk has to be tabled.

And I make my move toward FA being a realistic outcome.

Outside of being a Carolina fan and wanting Newton....why would Newton sign an extension now. Dave and Cam ain't tight......Hurney, Shula and Ron all will be gone. Lot of unknowns. If you are Cam....you start to show your muscle.

But Dave might not care.....Cam isn't his guy either

    • Yes.  And this converts directly to confidence.  Does the coach have confidence to call a deep dig or seam route?  Does Bryce have confidence in his ability to be the Alpha?  Do his teammates have confidence.  About film--when I see Cam Newton's pre-snap confidence vs. Bryce's, it is night and day.   Film--tells you if the WRs are open (why l love watching the Replay telecasts from the end zone cameras--you can see it.  I have seen 2 WRs open and Bryce's eyes are on the outlet WR or the pass rush. )  You can see progressions, and he has improved a bit--but he is very quick to rush through 1 and 2 and checkdown--that is a lack of confidence in his ability to read the defense.  I had a former NFL TE (Deems Maye) who played QB in high school (not sure about college) tell me that the best QBs read the defense by knowing where everyone will be when the ball is to arrive--not where they are.  I think his QB at the time was Humphries.  He said that Humphries would throw the ball into coverage before the cuts etc.  because he understood DB momentum, zone areas, etc.  and he could just see it.  Said so when people say nobody was open, they are usually right because nobody should be "open" when the QB has the ball--when the ball arrives, everyone should be open.  He said Humphries was never "great" but his skills were limited--from a small school--but his ability to read a defense made him never give up on a route.
