gettleman made some questionable judgement calls this offseason, but i refuse to believe ernie accorsi peddled a guy who would dump cam newton based on his performance behind this offensive line for an udder-suckling rookie and expect to yield any kind of results. it would be the worst mistake made by any front office in the history of the national football league. it would make the herschel walker trade look like stellar executive prowess.

 

maybe that's just a survival mechanism. i literally would need counseling to watch football again if this happened.

That could actually happen, and maybe not be such a bad thing. But I'm sure the rest of the league has seen that Cam is a shadow of his former self, and may never return.

In his college career he has thrown a total of 12 INTs over 3 years and only 6 in his last 2 seasons. Compared to 124 total TDs. Plus, he's a better runner than Cam. He's smart, got a plus arm, 6 foot 4, never gets in trouble. He's gonna dominate this league for a whole buncha years. And this coming from someone who despises Oregon.

It's hard for me to sit here and talk draft because I have no idea what kind of offense and defense we will have next season. I'm not sure who is going to coach.

 

But if you get a top 10 pick you have to look at a franchise tackle or dominant offensive weapon. Spending a top 10 pick on defense is fool hardy when the guy will just get called for defensive holding or blow to the head.

It's hard to evaluate these guys in college offenses. He does look good but he throws to a lot of wide open targets.
