How many seasons will it take to right this ship?

As we know there is a extentions of Cam/Kuchley looming over the head of this franchise. IMO with the current cap situation, extensions and javing to retool the secondary, OL and WRS how long is it going to take to get this roster playoff bound.

The realites:

Greg Olsen FA and aged

Thomas Davis FA and aged

Kalil not a dominant player and paid at an elite level.

Charles Johnson not the same.guy after that damn leg whip in NE.

Need for a new DE.

Will Star return to his rookie form?

In need of another Lber too esp if TD is not retained.

I see three more seasons until we get back so if that IS the case..do you extend Cam to a big contract or reset this thing? As Gettles prob wanted all along.

However many seasons Richardson is drawing breath. It starts there. Afraid to higher coaches with any personality or one that isn't conservative and "old school". Until we get an owner who wants to bring in a coach that will kill a baby koala to win, we will continue to be mediocre-to-bad.

See the Chiefs and Andy Reid. See SF and Harbaugh. See Belichick in NE. Three losing seasons out of 4 is on the coach. A good coach can turn around this ship. We have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball.

If the coaching staff is changed and this roster is completely turned over this could be a quick turnaround. Obviously you never know what could happen with the rest of the division but it's not like any of those teams are in great spots either, especially the one that ends up sacrificing fifteen spots in the draft to get waxed in the first round.

Playing the AFC south next year will also help a ton.

Too many variables with regards to coaching, players and cap management.  We could conceivably be decent next year, or never, who knows.  After going from an elite team to a bottom dweller in one year who knows what the future holds?

Most NFL rosters are made up of serviceable players that surround a few stars.  We have the stars.  What we need is a coaching/gm combo that can fill out the roster and get the most out of it.
