Serious Question about righting this roster

No one even got in the way of the rushers. That's a protection breakdown. It's on the coach the second time.

The second time, yes, because our moronic special teams coach couldn't get an audible for when the defense was clearly going to blitz. But the first was on the players.

cam isn't a game manager.  hell the knock on him early in his career when he was running chud's crazy-ass offense was that he was a big play splash guy but had trouble managing the game.  for a stretch in 2013 we started to see both of those components coming together and he had a few games where he was not only a swiss army knife offensive weapon but also capable of leading gutty comebacks.

give him a real NFL offensive coordinator and some vertical threats on offense and he can do anything.

Sad that the best QB we have had in franchise history is a mediocre passer. Just shows you how pathetic this franchise has been.

Sad that non football people can't understand that no passer looks good with no blocking, few weapons, and bad play calling..

Cam Newton:

2011- 15th in QB rating, 18th in comp %, 10th in passing yards

2012- 15th in QB rating, 26th in comp %, 13th in passing yards

2013- 16th in QB rating, 17th in comp %, 11th in passing yards

2014- 28th in QB rating, 30th in comp %, 19th in passing yards

Seems pretty average to me, and that's only the few major QB categories. You can look at the minor QB statistics too.

Also, you don't have to get so sensitive when someone doesn't believe in Cam. You sound kind of hostile.

what were his TD to Int's ratio?

Or

Passer rating of other QB their 1st 4 years..

My problem is so by year 6 of Cam we BEGIN surround him with Offensive talent for him to develop with?! That is a huge fail on this orgnization. Sure KB is a start but Olsen is aging out and looking stiffer each passing season.

Luck comes in and first draft TY Hilton, TE Dewayne Allen, Colby Fleener are added. Traded agressively for Trent Richardson(yes a bad move but at least with intention to add elite weapons) added Hakeem Nicks, drafted Donte Moncrief...All the same age... Growing together.

We have 30-32 year olds and rookies.. Mixed together with little continuity. The churn on this roster might be more than just Double Trouble...it could be Olsen , TD....etc

Every team who has drafted a QB in the last 6-8 years had a big offensive off-season to build around that QB. Everybody but US!!

If we begin to surround CAM with rookies next season n after that.... also new coaches this deep into his career is the smart move to sign him to an elite deal?

Not that that is not Cam's market value for the Panthers. I just see a QB having to wait for his help to endure rookie growing pains in his prime. Will Cam develop effectively under that type of situation? Will he have the patience?

Cam needs an organization to have an identity... Rivera's attachment to Shula and Gettleman's culture/cap hit moves of 2014 has destroyed it. I almost do feel like there was an effort to curb Cam's market value have the coaches take the falll to go after Gettleman's new guys.

It is playing that way and im not a fan...but emotion about Cam aside how do you solve this?

There are a great number of scenarios in which Cam Newton is not the Panthers quarterback in a couple years.  What seemed like an impossibility last year seems to me to be a significant possibility, especially given the likely turnover at HC.  I don't blame Cam's play on him alone, but he hasn't helped the team much the last few weeks, he looks defeated. :(

I think it's partially the roster but mostly the coaching staff, I've lost faith in Rivera and it's obvious he's lost the locker room. Bring in an offensive minded coach, draft a LT and weapons for Cam, either win games with 30+ points or lose them still scoring 30+, tired of seeing a weapon like Cam being wasted on a simple minded coach like Shula.

I Feel like I can pinpoint the exact play Cam's defeated and subsequent poor play the rest of the season happened: the over the middle crossing pattern where he hit Bersin right in the hands.. It deflects up and gets intercepted.

Seems like Cam has not been the same guy since.

Like I have said all along yet people keep bashing me for it, trade Cam for a buttload of draft picks because it is going to take a lot more players to field a good team than an inconsistent QB. You know how much a team would give up for Cam just for the name alone? A whole lot. Cam is replaceable regardless of what these blind Cam homers say how good he is.

everyone needs to be evaluated.Yours is a very viable solution.signing him will put us in perpetual bargain basement mode for years. I think that is what G-man likes to do anyways.
