Panthers players making promises they can't keep again.....

D-Will is prolly gonna retire. Hope they can make one last run this year. (LoL)

He's getting cut. He knows it, everybody knows it. He's over 30 years of age, his mother just passed away, he has a young daughter, he's made an insane amount of money, & he has avoided any serious injury that will harm him long term.

He's got nothing left to play for, but plenty to lose. I think he calls it quits around April.

Oh, I guess you expect him to say

Same thing I just said about SF, winning changes everything. If Carolina can start winning then it'll change this, but heaven forbid Williams takes this seriously and maybe a little personally. I guess having a chip on your shoulder and taking things personally doesn't really do much for the professional football world.

We expect him to ignore trent dilfer and the mainstream media and put his focus on winning football games on the field and not twitter.

I don't think the time it takes him to type 140 characters or less is detracting from his preparation or focus on winning games...I don't mind players sticking up for their team in the media.  Especially a guy that knows he's not going to be a Panther next year anyway, shows personal and team pride regardless of the circumstances.

People like to forget professional football players are people too.

That tweet was several days ago. What do you want him to say? "We're gonna just take one on the chin, tank the season, ensure the staff gets canned, and oh yeah, by the way... I'm getting cut in the offseason anyway so I don't give a fug!" Would that make you feel better?

did he have to say anything? why not just keep his mouth shut? if he wants to prove dilfer wrong, score on sundays. poo, just run forwards and gain yards instead of lose them.

this is no time for bravado. this is the time to just shut up and win...that is if you can. nobody is going to gain any real confidence by someone on the team talking big like that. the only thing that is going to help their confidence and morale is winning.
