Also worth factoring in who's not with their original team anymore.

- Gabe Carimi (#29 to the Bears in 2011) was traded to the Bucs for 1 6th rounder in 2013.  They cut him after the season.  He now plays for the Falcons.

- Derek Sherrod (#32 to the Packers in 2011) was cut from the Packers earlier this year after an injury filled career.  He's not currently on an NFL roster.  A couple of teams have had him in for tryouts (the Panthers being one of them) but no one's made him an offer.

- Jason Smith (#2 to the Rams in 2009) was first traded to the Jets in 2012, released from the Jets in 2013, signed by the Saints. signed by the Saints that same year, released by the Saints that same year, picked back up by the Jets that same year, and then finally released again by the Jets just eight days after they signed him.  He is currently out of football and would have to be considered the biggest bust of the past ten years at this position.

- Eugene Monroe (#8 to the Jaguars in 2009) was traded to the Baltimore Ravens for 4th and 5th round picks in 2013.  He effectively replaced Michael Oher, who later moved on.

- Michael Oher (#23 to the Ravens in 2009) signed a free agent deal with the Tennessee Titans in 2014.  Over his Ravens career, Oher bounced back and forth between the left and right side (generally playing better on the right).

- Jake Long (#1 to the Dolphins in 2008) signed a free agent contract with the Saint Louis Rams in 2013.  Miami had offerred him an extension but he turned it down.  He is the highest drafted player on this list to change teams, but did so by choice.

- Chris Williams (#14 to the Bears in 2008) was released by the Bears in 2012 and picked up by the Rams.  In 2014, he signed a free agent contract with the Buffalo Bills.

- Branden Albert (#15 to the Chiefs in 2008) signed a free agent contract with the Dolphins in 2014.  he was reportedly unhappy with the Chiefs' plans to move him to right tackle after they drafted Eric Fisher.

- Levi Brown (#5 the the Cardinals in 2007) was traded to the Steelers in October of 2013.  He was released by the Steelers the following offseason and is currently not playing anywhere.

- Jammal Brown (#13 to the Saints in 2005) was traded to the Redskins in 2010 for a fourth round pick.  He lasted two years there and hasn't played since.

- Alex Barron  (#19 to the Rams in 2005) was traded to the Dallas Cowboys in May of 2010.  He later signed with the Saints (August 2011) but was released just a few months later with an injury settlement.  He went to camp with the Seahawks and Raiders after that  but didn't make the final roster either time.

And then of course there's Jeff Otah

So what can we learn here (aside from the fact that I've got a lot of time on my hands today)?

Speaking of tackles, I got a chance to watch Austin Peat in the Stanford-UCLA game.

He's big and can move, but a little iffy in the areas of balance and body control.

Small sample, but left me a little leary.

I noticed he seemed to be winded, early in the game as well.

Just gonna give my 2 cents on the individual players, just my own personal opinions of whether they were worth the pick.

2014

#2 Greg Robinson , Auburn (Saint Louis Rams) Still early, looking like a bad pick so far though (hasn't he been moved inside to G?)

#6 Jake Matthews , Texas A&M (Atlanta Falcons) Still early.  Completely 50/50 in my opinion so far.

#11 Taylor Lewan , Michigan (Tennessee Titans) Looking good.

#19 Ja'Wuan James , Tennessee (Miami Dolphins) Looking real good.

2013

#1 Eric Fisher  , Central Michigan  (Kansas City Chiefs) Bust, but has time to change that

#2 Luke Joeckel  , Texas A&M  (Jacksonville Jaguars) Bust, but has time to change that

#4 Lane Johnson  , Oklahoma  (Philadelphia Eagles) Not quite a bust yet, time to move further from that label.

#11 D. J. Fluker  , Alabama  (San Diego Chargers) I'm not even sure, I think he's been doing ok.  Haven't heard much about him.

#19 Justin Pugh  , Syracuse  (New York Giants ) Not looking great, but he was overdrafted anyway.

2012

#1 Matt Kalil  , USC  (Minnesota Vikings) Bust, has time to change that but time is running out.

#1 Riley Reiff  , Iowa  (Detroit Lions) Solid pick.

2011

#17 Nate Solder  , Colorado  (New England Patriots) Good pick.

2010

#4 Trent Williams  , Oklahoma  (Washington Redskins) Stud, well worth it.

#6 Russell Okung  , Oklahoma State  (Seattle Seahawks) Very good, worth it.

#23 Bryan Bulaga  , Iowa  (Green Bay Packers) Bust.  Maybe a change of scenery....

2009

#2 Jason Smith  , Baylor  (Saint Louis Rams) Epic bust.

#6 Andre Smith  , Alabama  (Cincinnati Bengals) Stud, worth it.

#8 Eugene Monroe  , Virginia  (Jacksonville Jaguars) Worth it.

#23 Michael Oher  , Ole Miss  (Baltimore Ravens) Worth it.

2008

#1 Jake Long, Michigan  (Miami Dolphins) Stud, worth it, but injuries and high price tag have brought this one down a little.

#12 Ryan Clady, Boise State  (Denver Broncos) Stud, worth it.

#14 Chris Williams  , Vanderbilt  (Chicago Bears)  Uh, I dunno?  Probably means a bust.

#15 Branden Albert, Virginia  (Kansas City Chiefs) Stud, worth it.

#17 Gosder Cherilus  , Boston College  (Detroit Lions) Uh??

#19 Jeff Otah  , Pittsburgh  (Carolina Panthers) On his way to studhood, but injuries derailed the promising career.  Bust.

#21 Sam Baker  , USC  (Atlanta Falcons) Bust

#26 Duane Brown, Virginia Tech  (Houston Texans) Worth it.

2007

#3 Joe Thomas, Wisconsin  (Cleveland Browns) Stud, well worth it.

#5 Levi Brown  , Penn State  (Arizona Cardinals) Semi-bust.  Not a good starting T, but he's still playing.

2006

#4 D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Virginia  (New York Jets) Stud, well worth it.

2005

#13 Jammal Brown, Oklahoma  (New Orleans Saints) So-so.

#19 Alex Barron  , Florida State  (Saint Louis Rams) Not familiar, guessing a bust.

Basically it looks like quality of OTs is just in general decline.  2010 was the last draft to have very good OTs.  No telling why this is.  Those guys and the ones that came before stepped in and were good right away, so it's not like the guys from 2012 and after are even on a similar path or anything.  There just hasn't been the same quality lately.  Let's hope this year's draft doesn't follow the same trend.

and that is why in my eyes, i do not see a high 1st rounder. he is off balance way to much for my liking.  his name is Andrus , and one guy you need to check out is Ronnie Stanley, LT from Notre Dame.

also you forgot about Tyron Smith LT, for Dallas. he was drafted in 2011 pick #9 i believe. he is considered a top 5 LT,and Ogbhuei reminds me of him.

There were actually six tackles taken in that draft, and somewhere in my cut and paste I lost every one of them but Nate Solder

(ah, the joy of spreadsheets)

I'll fix it.

Yeah, I've done that to him a couple of times.  I think it's because I'm thinking of the college, Austin Peay
