Is Jerry Richardson the new Bobcat Johnson?

So let me get this out of the way...

For years, JR has been a class act for the city of Charlotte

He brought NFL to Charlotte

He has done some great things for players in the past (I.e. Helping Olsen's son with surgery, etc.)

However, ever since the lock out a few years ago, he has made quite a few questionable calls.

Showing his true cards, that he is an NFL guy first vs. The Carolina Panthers owner I.e. going against the players, making an ass of himself with pie charts, etc.

Refusing to make many personnel decisions including:

Keeping Hurney

Keeping Hardy out of the league or not standing up for him against goodell

NFL logo midfield

Keeping Ron Riveria, when apparently DG wanted him out during his first year (speculation)

What else...lots of stuff

Also, I think he shares the blame along with DG by refusing to bring in quality FA by going cheap and refusing on spending money on good coaches.

Now I would say most fans and the media have turned against him.

Bobcat Johnson was an ass from Day One with the city of Charlotte, but his legacy remains. Unlike Bobcat, JR came in a good guy, but sadly IMO he is going to end up going out the same way as the former Bobcats owner...

not standing up for hardy? i dont understand this statement.

Our origional stance was we were going to play him, and jerry said dont jump to conclusuions and cried.

We were forced to put hardy on that list or other actions would have been taken by the NFL to have him off the field. Just look at ths damn press conference of that day folks

however, the reality of our suckage starts with Jerry as a owner! 

 

its all downhill from there. sure we are having another embarrassing season that will take many more seasons for people to to believe we are serious but as a whole this organization has sucked many seasons under Jerry long before RR/DG/Cam. In reference to DG, I think he wants RR out as head coach and will bring in his people after he is gone. our hopes shouldn't have been up so high this year to begin with, nor last year. DG knew all along that slicing the panthers up would be necessary to "truly" rebuild....and it is, in spite of attachments to the old way of doing things and players we loved. based on our current situation is has no other choice than to be another drastic change at the end of this season. so get ready to say bye to a rb or two. if by some chance hardy stays expect even more cuts.... at the end of the day, this current team will come down to Cam or RR within the next few years. They both have issues but neither are in the right situation for their own best success. I vote Cam to stay but that may take 2 more years to fix what he needs. If you vote RR, expect the defense to improve first knowing the the outcome as we currently see it. Either way, RR's first move to solidify him as a coach should be to slice Shula. There is no place for him anywhere near a playbook and if he thinks so fire him too. Jerry acts like this is a charity event team and needs to be be more involved in winning not money! his greed is all he speaks on. that's a shame and why he needs to step down.
