So 49ers CEO Apologizes and Takes Blame for Thursday Loss?

I see where you're coming from. But you have to admit he would be an improvement over Ron.

Sadly, a lot of coaches would be an improvement over Ron at this point (sets the bar a tad low, there).

If we do wind up looking again, I definitely hope the standard exceeds just "better than Ron".

Give me Jim. Keep Roman. If Jim does leave he'll most likely go to Oakland or back to college. Seeing how our management and ownership is ok with losing, don't expect Ron to be fired even if we do lose out. It'll be interesting to land back to 2011 again where Jim is available. I'll keep hope but I have yet to see logical decisions being made in quite some time

That's not the only factor for JH though. He's a proven HC. Someone willing to make players ride the bench if he feels the answer is lower on the depth chart.

The anger thing may get old, but you can't deny he's a good coach.

I might debate the 'proven' part.

Rex Ryan looked 'proven' after his first few years too, but look at him now.

I'd probably need to see at least five years or more of consistent success before I'd take 'proven'.

Then you have to consider that even given the success of the first few years, there's a general belief that the 49ers can't wait to be rid of him ().  Winning usually trumps all, so when you have a team that's willing (arguably eager) to part with a winning coach?

Gotta tell ya, I see red flags.

If Ohio state wins this weekend I have the strong feeling that Jim will be singing "Hail to the Victors" this time next year while cashing his blank check.

I honestly think that'd be a great partnership.

Sure would be fun to watch a Jim Harbaugh coached Michigan team and a Nick Saban coached Alabama team going at it for all the marbles.

When I saw that tweet originally, I thought about the potential of both Rivera and Harbaugh being let go at the end of the season. We'd have a head coaching vacancy and Jim Harbaugh would be available just like a few years ago. I gotta admit, it moved.

I'm not that big a Harbaugh fan, honestly.

But setting that aside for a moment, I'd have to say the odds of him joining this team are slim.  He'll be in a position to demand a lot of control and a ridiculous paycheck.  Not sure this team offers wither of those.

(I'm actually happy about that honestly, but others probably aren't)

Regardless of how you feel about it though, in the world of likelihood, this one's pretty thin.

That would be cool but from my understanding Michigan wants John not Jim Harbaugh. I definitely can't see John leaving the NFL anytime soon especially with the Ravens playing this well season in and out. The only way John will leave or has to go will do a lot more with the Ray Rice situation when the details of the investigation come to light. But I think he stays and Jim Harbaugh goes to Oakland or New York. What's funny about this is if the Panthers job was to become available this team looks a lot more better then the others in my opinion.

Only things he's proven is that he is still a winey little bitch and can coach up a very talented team.......

although not so much last nite.

I truly don't think John's gonna be available anytime soon.

Jim might be, though.

(his being a Michigan alumnus helps too)

We've been blown out 5 times this year.....

That's all I need to say.

JH has been to a superbowl and has made it to the playoffs 3(?) years in a row.

That "whiney little bitch" has proved himself a lot more than Ron.
